The Future of Disney Parks Takes Shape at D23
The second day of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event brought fans together in Anaheim for another day of new announcements, immersive experiences and a closer look at the future of Disney Experiences.
The day culminated with the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at the Honda Center, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. The presentation featured Disney Experiences leaders, Imagineers and storytellers sharing updates on upcoming projects around the world, alongside surprise performances from Grammy Award winners Sheryl Crow, Beck, Los Lobos and Gloria Gaynor.
Among the biggest announcements were new details for projects at Walt Disney World Resort, including Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, a Cars-themed area and Villains Land. Disneyland Resort will also welcome a new Coco attraction and an expansion of Avengers Campus.
Disney also revealed new additions and updates at its international destinations, including a Lion King-themed area in Paris, new Marvel experiences in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and a reimagined Space Mountain in Tokyo.
Fans also cheered the return of the Yeti in Expedition Everest. Looking further ahead, Disney shared plans for a reimagined Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park and a complete reimagining of Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT, featuring Figment and the return of Dreamfinder.
Earlier in the day, the Anaheim Convention Center continued to host the largest show floor in D23 history, with immersive activations, exclusive pavilions, panels and shopping experiences. Fans also took part in the D23 Mousequerade costume contest and panels covering Camp Rock 3, Bluey, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Scrubs, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Zootopia, KINGDOM HEARTS and Tinker Bell.
The day also brought several announcements. Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been renewed for a seventh season on Disney Jr. and Disney+, while Disney Theatrical Group announced the development of the Disney Princess Experience, an immersive adventure inspired by Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Moana and Ariel.
Fans also received an exclusive first screening of LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an animated special coming exclusively to Disney+ on Sept. 2, 2026.
With one more day of D23 still to come, the event will close with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony at the Honda Center, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. This year’s inductees include Chris Berman, Jerry Bruckheimer, Susan Egan, Eric Goldberg, Anne Hathaway, Bob Iger, Kim Irvine, Dwayne Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Tudyk.
