FTISLAND Proves Why They're Still One of K-Rock's Finest at KL
After two and a half hours of non-stop singing, jumping and headbanging, one thing became abundantly clear—FTISLAND concerts are an experience unlike any other.
Returning to Malaysia for the 2026 FTISLAND LIVE TOUR '0-XIX-III FaTe' IN KUALA LUMPUR, the legendary Korean rock band transformed Zepp Kuala Lumpur into a full-fledged rock festival on 25 July, delivering an unforgettable night of explosive live music.
Unlike a conventional concert opening, vocalist HONGGI immediately set the mood by appearing among the audience with a small lamp in hand. Slowly making his way through the venue before stepping onto the stage, the mysterious entrance built anticipation and suspense, perfectly introducing the evening's artistic concept.
As the rest of the band joined him on stage, FTISLAND wasted no time launching into the powerful opening trio of "Satisfaction," "Hourglass," and "Sage." Their signature raw live sound instantly ignited the crowd, reminding everyone why FTISLAND remain one of Korea's most respected live bands.
The '0 — XIX — III FaTe' tour revolves around FTISLAND's artistic journey through their destiny, musical evolution, and nearly two decades of discography. True to its concept, the concert seamlessly blended nostalgia with new beginnings, allowing fans to revisit every chapter of the band's remarkable career through what Honggi proudly calls their "pure raw live" performances.Throughout the night, fans enthusiastically sang along to beloved hits including "Starlight," "Summer Night Dream," "Pray," "Wind," and many more, each song accompanied by thunderous cheers that echoed throughout the venue.
Smiling mischievously, HONGGI revealed to the audience: One of the biggest surprises of the evening came when FTISLAND performed "Severely"—a song that had never appeared on the setlist during the current FaTe tour.
His playful remark instantly sent the venue into deafening cheers, with Malaysian PRIMADONNAs realising they had witnessed an exclusive moment unique to Kuala Lumpur."We'll change the setlist along the way, and this is our first time performing this song. Please don't tell other countries that we performed it here. Otherwise, they'll get jealous. You guys are lucky."
Of course, no FTISLAND concert would be complete without the members' effortless humour.
When fans affectionately shouted "Ajjushi!" at the members, JAEJIN and HONGGI jokingly fired back,"We're pakcik? Then you guys are ajumma!"
The witty exchange immediately sent the entire venue into laughter, showcasing the relaxed chemistry between FTISLAND and their fans—a relationship that has been built over many years of growing together.
Beyond their impeccable musicianship, it is this genuine interaction that continues to make FTISLAND concerts feel incredibly personal. Whether it was casually chatting between songs, teasing fans, or even comfortably enjoying a plate of fruit on stage, the members created an atmosphere that felt less like a formal concert and more like spending an evening with old friends.
HONGGI also made sure every corner of the venue felt included. Rather than staying on stage, he repeatedly jumped down into the crowd, running around the venue multiple times while continuing to sing live, allowing fans from every section to experience unforgettable up-close moments.
As the concert entered its encore, the energy somehow climbed to an even higher level.
With fan favourites including "Love in the City," "Freedom," "Let's Seize the Day," and more, Zepp Kuala Lumpur transformed into one giant rock party. Fans danced, jumped, waved their lightsticks and sang at the top of their lungs, refusing to let the night end.
Before the night came to a close, Malaysian PRIMADONNAs had one final surprise in store for the band. A beautifully decorated cake topped with a crown was brought on stage to celebrate FTISLAND's 19th debut anniversary. The thoughtful gesture caught the members completely by surprise as they admired the beautifully crafted cake, admitting that they had not expected such a special celebration in Kuala Lumpur. Touched by the fans' love and effort, the members could not hide their smiles as they repeatedly expressed their heartfelt "Thank you!" to everyone in attendance. The touching moment perfectly reflected the strong bond that FTISLAND and Malaysian PRIMADONNAs have built over the years.
By the final song, many were visibly exhausted after nearly three hours of relentless excitement—but no one wanted to leave.
FTISLAND once again proved that their concerts are never just about powerful vocals or flawless live instrumentation. It is the combination of exceptional musicianship, spontaneous humour, heartfelt conversations, and the genuine bond they share with PRIMADONNAs that continues to make every show feel special.
Nearly two decades into their career, FTISLAND continue to demonstrate why they remain one of Korea's greatest live rock bands. Judging by the smiles, laughter, and sore legs leaving Zepp Kuala Lumpur that night, Malaysian fans are already counting down the days until the band returns once again.
