The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome TAEYANG for an evening of conversation about his upcoming music, career, and more, along with a special performance - and a few surprises. Global Spin Live is held in conjunction with GRAMMY Studios as a live event extension of the popular online series, Global Spin, showcasing Global Music artists.

TAEYANG is a South Korean recording artist widely recognized as one of the most influential vocalists and performers of his generation. As a member of BIGBANG - one of the most iconic and best-selling groups in K-pop history - he helped lead the global expansion of the genre, performing in stadiums across Asia, Europe, and the Americas and earning over 100 awards, including the MTV Europe Music Awards’ “Best Worldwide Act.” 

As a solo artist, TAEYANG has achieved both critical and commercial success with releases such as Solar, Rise, and White Night. His hit single “Eyes, Nose, Lips” spent five consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Korea’s major charts and earned multiple “Song of the Year” honors. His recent work, including “VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)”- which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 - and the EP Down to Earth, has further solidified his global presence.

As a live performer, The New York Times described TAEYANG as the member of BIGBANG, “who stood out the most”, as “he stalked the stage with ferocity and sang with real force. ”The Straits Times has said “he is often crowned the dancing king of K-Pop.”

 With time comes change—but some bonds only grow stronger. At Arena @ Expo in Singapore on March 28, Kim Jae-joong transformed the finale of 2026 KIM JAE JOONG J-Party Asia Tour Fan Concert “GALAXY 1986” into an intimate reunion, where every song, smile, and shared moment reflected years of unwavering support.

The energy shifted into a more playful gear with the fan-favourite segment “J Arcade,” where Jaejoong showcased his charming personality through games and interactive activities, bringing him closer to the audience in ways only a J-Party can. From aegyo and flying kisses to role-playing as a pilot and even a photographer capturing fans’ precious moments, he kept the atmosphere lively and personal. He also humorously reenacted how fans look while filming him—torn between hiding and wanting to be seen—drawing laughter across the venue.

He continued with “Kiss B” before returning to the stage in a sleek black outfit, captivating the crowd once again with “One Kiss,” “All That Glitters,” and “Dear J.” It had been years since his last visit to Singapore, and in his signature humour, Jaejoong joked that it had been “almost 16 years,” adding that while both he and his fans have grown older, he was genuinely happy to be back.

The concert rolled on with a vibrant lineup including “Hoper,” “Summer J,” “Dopamine,” and “Glorious Day,” each performance showcasing his versatility as a live performer. In one of the night’s most electrifying moments, Jaejoong stepped off the stage and moved through the crowd, sending fans into a frenzy as he closed the distance between artist and audience.

He took that connection even further during “I’ll Protect You,” beginning the performance by walking around the venue, surprising fans from behind and creating intimate, unforgettable interactions. The main set concluded with “To the Boy,” wrapping up the musical journey on a reflective note.

One particularly heartwarming moment came when Jaejoong noticed several couples in the audience, including husbands accompanying their wives to see their “first love.” Delighted, he gave a special shoutout to one husband holding up a sign to get noticed, praising his effort and earning cheers from the crowd. It was a beautiful reflection of how fans have grown alongside Jaejoong—building lives, relationships, and families, yet still holding onto the same unwavering support.

Before the final farewell, fans prepared a deeply touching project—a fan video tracing Jaejoong’s journey since debut, alongside clips of fans traveling across the world to support him. Moved by the gesture, Jaejoong apologised playfully for making fans travel so far, before adding with a smile that now, he was right there with them in Singapore. The surprises continued with a belated birthday celebration, complete with a cake and a heartfelt rendition of the birthday song. Though his actual birthday falls on January 26, Jaejoong joked about the “very late celebration,” expressing sincere gratitude for the fans’ effort. The crowd then united for a special singalong of “Rock Star,” waving hand banners in a powerful display of love and support.

Jaejoong also hinted at exciting things ahead, revealing that new music is on the way this year. As a singer, actor, producer, and head of his own company, he continues to evolve—but one thing remains unchanged: his place as a multi-talented artist deeply cherished by fans. Through the years, the artist and the fans have walked this journey together—supporting one another through life’s highs and lows. As much as fans draw emotional strength from his music, Jaejoong, in turn, finds purpose and motivation through their constant love.

As “GALAXY 1986” came to an end in Singapore, it wasn’t just the conclusion of a tour—it was a celebration of a shared journey, one that promises to continue for many more years to come.
