SEVENTEEN’s Joshua, DK and Dino Turn Pavilion KL Into a CARAT Celebration With Mister Potato
Thursday, December 18, 2025After six years away, SEVENTEEN’s JOSHUA, DK, and DINO finally returned to Malaysia, and Pavilion KL felt it the moment they stepped on stage. Mister Potato wrapped up its “Jinjja Crunch” campaign on a high note with a special Meet & Greet featuring Joshua, DK and Dino. An estimated 12,000 of fans filled the venue, with cheers so loud and packed that they echoed through the entire mall.
The last time SEVENTEEN visited Malaysia was in 2019 for a THE SAEM fan sign, held at the same venue. Back then, all the members attended. This time, only three were present, yet Pavilion KL was filled to the brim. The difference was clear. SEVENTEEN are now a global success story, and Malaysian CARATs showed up with the same devotion, if not more.
As Joshua, DK, and Dino appeared, the roar from the crowd was instant and overwhelming. Joshua was the first to speak, thanking fans for waiting so long and saying he could feel the love radiating from everyone who came. The tone was warm and sincere, setting the mood for a fan-forward event that felt personal from the start.
The trio quickly eased into playful banter, sharing their Mister Potato preferences. Joshua revealed his love for the Original flavor, while DK and Dino proudly picked Ghost Pepper, calling it spicy and addictive.
The first segment kicked off with an O and X game, where the members responded to scenarios posed by the host. Laughter peaked when DK casually admitted that he had stolen a whole box of Mister Potato chips from the shoot, earning cheers and mock outrage from fans.
Next came the balance game, where the members had to choose between two scenarios. One answer stood out. When asked whether they would rather have fans prepare Mister Potato for them or give Mister Potato to fans, the trio chose the fans without hesitation. Joshua was then given a choice that instantly went viral. Would he rather have a song named after his favourite potato flavour, or a Mister Potato chips flavour named after him? Without hesitation, Joshua chose the chips. Malaysian CARATs are now officially waiting for Joshua Chips.
The third segment slowed things down emotionally as the members read messages from selected fans. Many spoke about longing for SEVENTEEN’s full return to Malaysia. One message moved the members so much that they commented on how beautifully Malaysian CARATs express their hearts, a moment that drew loud applause and a few teary smiles.
Throughout the meet and greet, Joshua, DK and Dino repeatedly expressed amazement at how loud and passionate Malaysian fans are. To everyone’s surprise, they treated fans to short snippets of songs including “Thunder,” “God of Music,” DK’s “Happy Virus,” Joshua’s “Sunday Morning,” and DK’s “Say Yes.” What was meant to be a brand event slowly turned into a mini concert, something fans here had not experienced in years.
The members repeatedly shared their hope to return with all of SEVENTEEN, and the message was met with deafening cheers. Even though the event was labelled as a meet and greet, it stretched close to an hour and felt very much like a fanmeeting.
The dedication from fans was just as remarkable. Some arrived as early as 1am for a chance to see Joshua, DK, and Dino up close. Mister Potato went the extra mile to ensure comfort, preparing care packages complete with sandwiches. Mamee-Double Decker’s CEO, Pierre Pang, later shared on social media that extensive feedback was gathered to improve the fan experience, including setting up registration at Fahrenheit 88 so fans did not have to wait under the sun.
The thoughtful planning did not go unnoticed. Among Malaysian K-pop fans, the event was widely praised as one of the most well-organised brand collaborations of the year. In a scene filled with fan events, this stood out as an example of what happens when a brand truly listens.
Pierre Pang also added that, “We’re thrilled to partner with Joshua, DK and Dino of SEVENTEEN. Their presence adds a unique spark to the campaign and strengthens our connection with fans across the region. We’re especially excited to fly the boys to Malaysia for a special Meet & Greet, to create an unforgettable moment for our consumers and CARATs.”
Chief Marketing Officer How Yuan Yi added, “We’re committed to creating fresh and meaningful experiences that truly resonate with CARATs. Throughout this campaign, we’ve listened closely to what fans are excited about, and we’re happy to bring them new flavours, exclusive packaging collectibles, and moments they can look forward to. It’s part of our ongoing effort to stay close to our consumers and deliver moments that truly matter to them.”
The campaign itself drew massive attention across the region, featuring exclusive Mister Potato packaging with Joshua, DK and Dino, limited edition flavours like K-razy Kick Spicy Sour and Ghost Pepper Carbonara, as well as the coveted Jinjja Crunch Giant Box with cut-out standees and collectible postcards.
Mister Potato Meet & Greet with SEVENTEEN JOSHUA, DK & DINO was more than a promotional appearance. It was a reunion, a celebration, and a reminder of how strong the bond between SEVENTEEN and Malaysian CARATs remains. With hopes high for a full-group return, fans left Pavilion KL smiling, hoarse, and hopeful.
Special thanks to Mister Potato for inviting us.
