Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Im Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, Jung Sung-ill, writer Kim Eun-sook and director An Gil-ho graced 'The Glory' press conference today in Seoul. The Glory objectively and faithfully tells the story of characters who are led to destruction following Dong-eun’s footsteps of vengeance, which she has prepared her whole life.The plot unravels layer after layer with the focus on sympathy and partnership stronger and sturdier than love, so that Dong-eun, “manifestation of honor and glory,” does not lose sight of her goal of revenge. The theme is made clear in the go matches between Dong-eun and Yeo-jeong, and Dong-eun and Do-yeong.

Writer Kim Eun-sook and actress Song Hye-kyo meet for the second time on a series in The Glory, garnering much attention. The two, who have written history on romance dramas, come to viewers as a surprise with this series as it is on a chilling revenge. The main character Dong-eun has endured a long and bleak tunnel of pain planning her vengeance, while her wounds and scars hardened her. Director An Gil-ho was confident in his casting Song Hye-kyo as the lead as he said, “Song Hye-kyo was the best fit for the role of Dong-eun, who is weak but strong at the same time.” Joo Yeo-jeong, Dong-eun’s greatest supporter, seems delicate and naïve but has a hidden darkness within. Writer Kim Eun-sook spared no praise for Lee Do-hyun, who was the manifestation of the character she created, by saying “he was Joo Yeo-jeong from the beginning.”

Dong-eun’s meticulously thought-out vengeance takes into consideration many different players. Yeom Hye-ran takes on the role of Kang Hyeon-nam, who aids Dong-eun by surveilling the group of perpetrators in order to escape domestic violence. 

Netflix has released the main trailer for The Glory, the year end’s most anticipated Korean series. Set to premiere on 30 December, The Glory tells the story of a woman who dedicated her life to planning a meticulous web of vengeance against the bullies and their accomplices who made her childhood a nightmare.The trailer begins with an ominous narration by Moon Dong-eun (portrayed by Song Hye-kyo) juxtaposing the wedding of Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon), who is smiling brightly as she is congratulated by many wedding guests. As writer Kim Eun-sook put it, “I want The Glory to be remembered as a grim drama, like a breathtaking sword dance.” Lee Do-Hyun introduces Joo Yeo-jeong as “a character with many layers, though he comes off as a light and naïve person.” The actor focused on depicting his character’s soft, delicate side and the hidden darkness within. Director An Gil-ho praised Lee Do-Hyun for his complete immersion into his character and the great lengths he went to for Dong-eun, saying, “He beautifully embodied Yeo-jeong, who seemed to stand opposite Dong-eun at first but changes as the story unfolds.”

Forecasting Love and Weather is a romantic comedy series about people at the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) who break, fall and get back on their feet every day. The story narrates Jin Ha-kyung (starring Park Min Young), who decides never to commit to an office romance after a brutal break-up, again falling into a relationship with a newcomer in the team Lee Si-woo (starring Song Kang) who is different but attractive in his own way. 

Yesterday evening, director Cha Young Hun and the cast - Park Min Young, Song Kang, Yoon Bak and Yura attended 'Forecasting Love and Weather' online press conference and talked about their characters in the drama and difficulties they faced when playing the roles.

Q: Why did you decided to take this role? 

Park Min Young: It felt refreshing at first but after filming it, I have some regrets. As this is a new concept about weather forecast so there's no other drama reference that I can look up to and so I watched documentaries to familiarise with the terms and the pattern of the speech. It was fun but really tough. As I did my homework I feel proud of myself. 

Song Kang: The concept about weather felt fresh to me. I find myself smiling as I read the script. The transparent and clumsy character as Si-woo was just right for me. I tried to make the character as bright as possible. The lines were hard so I watched a lot of documentaries. As for my appearance, I cut my hair short and I look a little dumb.

Yura: I auditioned for twice. I read the script from the perspective of an audience so it was really fun. I really wanted to join the drama, so when I got the call back, I almost flew around the house. That's how much I love the script. 

Yoon Bak: Honestly, I like all the other characters except mine. I almost decided not to take the role because of his character but was persuaded by the director after I met him. I was really stressed out by the character Han Ki Joon.

With a star-studded cast of Park Min Young, Song Kang, Yura and Yoon Bak, this is one of the most anticipated Romantic Comedies in the first half of 2022. Watch it on Netflix on 12 February.

Netflix has confirmed that the Korean adaptation of global hit Money Heist will be titled Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area. The suspenseful storyline, together with the cast’s impressive acting, led to the drama receiving much love from fans globally.

Moreover, ‘Snowdrop’ is directed and written by the very talented Director Jo Hyun-tak and writer Yoo Hyun-mi, who have worked together previously for the hit drama ‘SKY Castle’, and this further heightened expectations even before its premier.

Set against the backdrop of a turbulent political era of the country in 1987, ‘Snowdrop’ tells a fictional story of two university students, Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo) and Lim Soo-ho (Jung Hae-In), caught up in a heart-breaking and desperate Romeo-and-Juliet-like love story. However, unbeknownst to Yeong-ro at the beginning, Lim Soo-ho was a wanted agent in disguise, who could potentially harm her and her loved ones.

We would say that ‘Snowdrop’ has successfully captivated audience worldwide— streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, every episode had been an emotional roller-coaster as we watched the main characters fight for their love with lives at stake.

We believe that the highlight of the drama is the ending of Episode 4, where Lim Soo-ho raised the gun to Yeong-Ro’s head. For me, that particular scene left me at the edge of my seat as it marked the start of all the chaos, heartbreaks and painful betrayals the protagonists had to overcome.

Plot twists after plot twists, the splendid acting of the supporting cast also made us feel how desperate and burnt out the characters were in the hostage situation. Every cast member did a marvellous job carrying their respective roles to build up the storyline and this absolutely left viewers hooked onto the drama.

The main cast, Jung Hae-In and Jisoo, have also been highly praised for their synergy and great chemistry on set and even in the behind-the-scenes footages. ‘Snowdrop’ also marks the BLACKPINK member’s first ever lead in a K-drama series! Jisoo has also been making headlines with her impressive acting talent and hopefully we can expect to see her in more K-dramas in the future!

The final 3 episodes were broadcasted consecutively on the last weekend of January, in consideration to other programmes that were rescheduled due to the Lunar New Year holidays. Like any classic korean drama, we believed that the protagonists would have a happy ending. Unfortunately, ‘Snowdrop’ has proven us wrong about this. The heart-wrenching moments lasted till the final episode and it led to a painfully tragic ending.

Nevertheless, we would say still that ‘Snowdrop’ was indeed a ‘One-Way Ticket’ to the hearts of the global audience! Kudos to Jung Hae-in, Jisoo and all cast for this amazing project of ‘Snowdrop’. Viewers will also ‘always remember’ this piece of work by JTBC and Disney+ Hotstar.
