TikTok, the world's leading destination for short-form mobile video with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy, will exclusively pre-release a clip of the title song “ON” from BTS’ highly anticipated new album ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’.

Users will be able to enjoy the new song “ON” 12 hours ahead of the official release of the album, which will be exclusively available through TikTok. Worldwide BTS fans will not only be the first to enjoy a 30-second clip of the song but also create their TikTok videos with the music. The title track "ON" will be available to TikTok users worldwide on February 21 at 5 a.m.

MAP OF THE SOUL:7 marks BTS's fourth studio album, including fifteen new tracks and five songs from last year's "Map of the Soul: Persona". The title track "ON" will be released in two versions, one featuring only BTS and the digital version featuring Australian singer Sia. MAP OF THE SOUL:7 is set to release on 21 February and the music video for the title track will drop on 28 February. 

BTS officially joined TikTok on September 25, 2019, and soon claimed the world record for fastest time to reach one million followers, achieving a record time of 3 hours and 31 minutes. In the same week, TikTok also launched the band member j-hope’s ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ challenge in more than 40 countries and regions, reaching over 480 million views.

BTS is among a long line of renowned artists and entertainment stars who join the platform to share their creativity and joy along with hundreds of millions of users worldwide. At the 2020 Grammys Award on January 26, BTS became the first Korean boy band on stage.

To usher in the reveal of BTS j-hope’s ‘Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)’ today, TikTok, the world’s leading short video platform, launches #CNSchallenge, its latest global in-app challenge in over 40 countries and regions including Malaysia, the U.S., UK and France.

#CNSchallenge, whose name takes inspiration from the abbreviation of j-hope’s ‘Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)’, invites TikTok users to dance to the beat of the song’s catchy chorus. Other BTS members will also be uploading their own videos.

The ‘#CNSchallenge’ challenge is the second official collaboration between BTS and TikTok, with the first one being the ‘IDOL Challenge’ that took place last year. This in-app challenge aims to deliver j-hope’s ‘Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)’ to the world in a new way on TikTok, which has ranked No. 1 in the number of worldwide downloads on the App Store last August (as per Sensor Tower, non-game category).

BTS has officially joined TikTok on the 25th, prior to the launch of the upcoming challenge. The account has gained more than 2M followers and 4M likes within 13 hours of opening, proving BTS’ global fame. Followed by the first video that celebrates the opening of their official TikTok account, BTS will be using this channel to engage with their fans across the globe.

j-hope is set to reveal his collaboration with Becky G ‘Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)’ on September 27 at 6PM KST, accompanied with a music video, for free.

The Seoul Tourism Organization plans to promote the charm and tourist contents of Seoul, along with the help of promotional videos with global superstars, BTS, who has created a wide range of economic and cultural sensation throughout the world. The Seoul tourism promotional videos featuring BTS (7 videos starring each member of BTS, and 1 video starring all of them), will be brought to light worldwide through the official YouTube channel, "Visit Seoul," Facebook, and Instagram starting September 13.

BTS has been active as Seoul’s Honorary Tourism Ambassadors for three years. Starting with the 2017 "BTS’ Life in Seoul" commercial and the music video of "With Seoul," a series of videos with BTS, "My Seoul Playlist," was released in 2018.

The slogan of the promotional videos continues to convey the message of the previous campaign, "Live Seoul Like I Do." While the earlier campaigns carried the message inviting viewers to embrace life in Seoul as a Seoulite would, this year’s campaign takes a step further enabling foreign tourists who have first-hand experiences enjoying Seoul to feature as narrators, encouraging people to Live Seoul like I do, Create & Share. It features being easily relatable to potential foreign tourists as the tourist experiences are presented from the perspectives of foreigners, and aims to create an attractive, friendly image of Seoul.

The "Create & Share" campaign does not only design trips in a creative and distinctive manner that perfectly fits each and everyone’s lifestyle, but it also reflects the global trend of instant transformation of such experience into content to be shared online, aiming to promote the experience and widely spread the unique charms of Seoul.

After the video release, advertisements will be broadcast on major platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, in main target countries and regions, including Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, as well as China and the Americas. They will also be aired on tvN's Asian channels, which are available to 9.33 million households in nine Southeast Asian countries.

BT21 is the animated characters created by BTS in 2017. BTS joined LINE Friends' Creators initiative, a project between the messaging app and global artists and designed this cute characters - Tata, Chimmy, Mang, RJ, Cooky, Koya, Shooky and Van. With BTS dropping its highly-anticipated album, MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA on Friday, Spotify can confirm the worldwide K-Pop phenomenon is the first K-Pop group to surpass 5 billion streams on its platform. They also set the record as the first artist from Asia to have hit this milestone.

To celebrate the album release, the follow up to 2018’s award-winning, chart-topping LoveYourself 結 'Answer', BTS has dedicated a special Spotify playlist of their favourite music to their fans - AKA the ARMY - who have supported them with these achievements. For the next seven days, the BTS boys will take control of Spotify’s Teen Party playlist, selecting songs from around the world that has inspired them.

Tracks selected include Halsey’s Without Me, Queen’s legendary anthem Bohemian Rhapsody and Billie Eillish’s idontwannabeyouanymore. As well as reaching the 5 billion streams milestone, BTS have a whopping 10 million followers on Spotify. Their hit song ‘FAKE LOVE’ – Spotify’s most streamed K-Pop track of 2018 – has brought the group over 219 million streams. They are also the most streamed K-Pop group in Malaysia.

The last leg of BTS’ ARMYPEDIA campaign is about to get more exciting as Spotify just announced it’s jumping into the ring. Teaming up with the world’s biggest K-Pop group, Spotify is joining in on this massive fan hunt for ARMYPEDIA puzzle pieces but with a unique Spotify twist.

From 19 March to 24 March, Spotify invites fans from all around the world to take part in a collective effort to hunt down special edition Spotify x BTS puzzle pieces. Global ARMY fans can find puzzle pieces scattered across Spotify, our social platforms and even on-ground. To solve all 19 pieces and complete ARMYPEDIA, ARMY fans must unite!

If you have not heard of the ARMYPEDIA campaign, it is a scavenger hunt on a monumental scale, where thousands of puzzle pieces are hidden across the world for BTS fans - also known as the ARMY - to uncover and eventually piece together a massive archive of BTS’ fondest memories for every single day of their history with the ARMY. That is 2,080 days, and 2,080 puzzle pieces in the form of QR codes hidden all over the world.

Upon locating the puzzle pieces and scanning its elusive QR codes, fans will then be led to a quiz question, which they have to answer in order to upload a piece of memory on ARMYPEDIA. In this special edition of ARMYPEDIA, the quiz would consist mainly of Spotify-related BTS questions so look out for streams, playlists, global charts and most importantly, BTS’ music on Spotify for hints.

These pieces of content also provided advertisers with an opportunity to reach out to the young and highly engaged KPop fans on a global scale. As such, Twitter extended its In-Stream Video Ads (IVA) capabilities to KPop content. In-Stream Videos Sponsorships (IVS) was also introduced, allowing brands to insert pre-roll ads into video highlights of KPop #TwitterBlueroom.

#2018MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) - 56 million Tweets in Just Three Days! 

Over the course of three days leading up the #2018MAMA Awards from 12 to 15 December last year, KPop fans interacted with each other on Twitter and set a new record of 56 million award-related Tweets, surpassing the 42 million award-related Tweets in 2017!

The Twitter's exclusive 'Worldwide Icon of the Year' award got fans voting for their favourite bands and artists on the platform, accumulating up to 13.3 million Tweets in just three hours! Fans used the hashtag #MAMAVOTE, which trended worldwide, ranking #1 in 44 countries.

BTS is the Most Tweeted Account in the World 

2018 was BTS' year, and it showed on Twitter. BTS was ranked as the #1 most Tweeted about account for 2018 worldwide. A Tweet featuring BTS member J-Hope participating in the #InMyFeelingsChallenge was the Most Liked Tweet worldwide last year with 1.8 million Likes.

The impact of BTS has also been recognised in corporate advertising. In order to promote their new smartphone, LG Electronics launched an official Twitter channel called LGxBTS, sharing video clips of BTS at award ceremonies such as the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, paired with In-Stream Video Ads. The pre-roll ads featured in the clips garnered 20 million views and 8.7 million engagements, making headlines on Twitter.

Breaking Records - EXO's #TwitterBlueroom Watched by 1.6 million People Live!

In November, KPop boy group EXO garnered huge attention by generating more than 24 million Tweets through the hashtag #EXO_Tempo, in anticipation for their comeback album, "Don't Mess Up My Tempo".

Twitter and EXO also collaborated for a surprise #TwitterBlueroom Live Q&A prior to their comeback. As many as 1.6 million EXO-L tuned in, making it the highest number of real-time views ever for a live KPop #TwitterBlueroom.

Twitter's 'Instant Unlock' for Exclusive GOT7 Video Content

Fans of KPop boy band GOT7 (@GOT7Official) were in for a treat when they announced that their fans were able to view a series of behind-the-scenes production videos on Twitter related to their third studio album, Present: YOU, exclusively available through an instant unlock feature when they Tweeted with the #Lullaby hashtag. There were 2.4 million related Tweets over the 10 day campaign in October 2018.

CJ ENM announced that Asia’s biggest music awards ‘2018 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards)' came to a great finale in Hong Kong last Friday, 14 December 2018 concluding the week-long journey of ‘MAMA WEEK.’

'2018 MAMA in Hong Kong’s red carpet and award show was broadcasted live via Mnet and major channels throughout Asia, including Mwave, YouTube, Naver TV, V Live etc., covering over 200 regions worldwide. CJ ENM reported that during the red carpet alone, more than 9.2 million votes were casted for the ‘Best Asian Style’, and MAMA ranked number one for worldwide Twitter trends, solidifying MAMA’s global presence and buzz among global music fans.

This year’s '2018 MAMA in HONG KONG' was filled mega-stage performances combined with Mnet’s advanced stage production to create the best stages for Asia’s top artists. More than 14,000 fans gathered at the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena to see their favorite artists perform, which included a star-studded lineup: BTS, Chung Ha, GOT7, Heize, IZ*ONE, Roy Kim, WANNA ONE, Seventeen, Sunmi, etc.

MAMA was completed with artists from all across the globe to perform and present awards. Pop legend Janet Jackson not only surprised music fans with her appearance, but also took home the ‘Janet Jackson Inspiration Award.’ In addition, Asia’s top celebrities including JJ LIN and Shanghai-born actress Yeung Wing (stage name: Angelababy) also made a presence.

Collaboration stages presented just for MAMA fans transcended languages, generations, and genres, including: Chinese-Singaporean pop star JJ LIN and Kim Jong Kook, hip hop legends Tiger JK & Yoon Mirae and rising stars Chung Ha and Vernon (of Seventeen), and MOMOLAND together with Mommy Son.

Meanwhile, BTS took home two awards: ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’, and the team teared up as they delivered an emotional acceptance speech. Other big winners of the night included TWICE, who was also in tears are they won ‘Song of the Year’ for their song ‘What is Love?’

2018 MAMA started its journey with '2018 MAMA PREMIERE in KOREA' at Dongdaemun Design Plaza(DDP) in Korea on December 10th, followed by '2018 MAMA FANS’ CHOICE in JAPAN' at Saitama Super Arena on December 12th, and made its grand finale in '2018 MAMA in HONG KONG' on December 14th. 2018 MAMA concluded its most spectacular year joined by a total of 40 thousand fans onsite and another 32 million fans that had watched the show live online.

All throughout 2018, K-Pop artists have celebrated a series of firsts on the global stage, making a massive impact in the music industry not just in Asia, but in the U.S. and around the world. Their fast tempos, thrilling visual components, and resonant use of melody and storytelling have captivated fans on every continent.

Based on Spotify’s data, K-Pop sensation BTS is the most streamed K-Pop artist in 2018 globally. In addition to that, BTS is also the second most streamed group on Spotify with FAKE LOVE as the top K-Pop song on the platform amassing over 175 million streams.

In celebration to Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 10th anniversary, #LikeMAMA campaign has been launched today (23 October 2018) dedicated for all MAMA lovers to participate in dream and enthusiasm of MAMA. The first week of the campaign welcomes the global boyband, BTS who breaks worldwide records and continuously re-writing their own history.

 As the start of #LikeMAMA campaign, two video clips featured BTS's SUGA and V were published on 2018 MAMA official website. During the individual interview, SUGA and V shared their stories on how they successfully overcome their challenges and reached beyond goals at the same. SUGA and V further shared their future goals and also the new challenges they are facing. 

SUGA said, "It was scarier than happy to overcome a tough challenge with the achievements beyond the set of goals. It made me work harder with a sense of duty at Billboard Hot 100, The Grammys and more" 

V, however said, "My biggest challenge and mission is to show new, different and exciting performances at every stage for our songs."

Followed by SUGA and V, #LikeMAMA campaign will continue to share RM and Jung Kook's interviews on 24th October, lastly, Jin, J-hope and Jimin's interviews on 25th October.

MAMA will continue to review interviews of other artists who have contributed to MAMA and music industry. From the interviews, the artists will share their own definitions and feelings for “Challenge”, “Passion”, and “Dream”, which are the themes of 2018 MAMA. Organized and presented by CJ ENM, Asia’s biggest music awards MAMA has been started off in 1999 as “Mnet Music Video Awards” for more than 10 years supported by the Korean music industry.
