Bonjour Bakery Ends on a Sweet Note as Southeast Asia's Top Korean Variety Show

Rakuten Viki has announced that Bonjour Bakery has concluded its eight episode run as the platform's top performing Korean variety series across Southeast Asia.

Following its premiere, the series debuted at No. 1 on Rakuten Viki's weekly rankings in Southeast Asia and maintained its strong momentum until the finale. Bonjour Bakery held the No. 1 spot in Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia for five consecutive weeks, while remaining in the Top 3 throughout its run.

The Southeast Asia exclusive series brought together veteran actress Kim Hee-ae, Kim Seon-ho, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Ki-taek in an unexpected bakery setting. Set in a rural bakery café, the show introduced Korea's first "Yes Senior Zone" dessert café, welcoming guests aged 65 and above to share conversations over French inspired desserts and coffee.

Rather than focusing on competition, Bonjour Bakery centered on the stories, memories and life experiences of its elderly guests, creating a slower paced variety show built around meaningful conversations and genuine connections.

Reflecting on the experience, Lee Ki-taek shared that the final scene stayed with him, saying it moved him so deeply that he could not stop crying and gave him a warmer and broader perspective on the people around him.

Series writer Kim Ran-ju also shared the heart behind the show, saying that if viewers felt inspired to take their parents out for a delicious meal after watching, then the series had achieved its goal.

The response from viewers reflected that message. Bonjour Bakery earned a 9.8 out of 10 rating from 739 reviews on Rakuten Viki, making it one of the platform's highest rated variety series. Many viewers praised its healing and heartwarming atmosphere, highlighting its focus on family, community and meaningful interactions with senior citizens.

As Rakuten Viki continues to expand its Korean variety lineup alongside titles such as Heart Signal 5 and Kumusta, Bonjour Bakery stands out for proving that simple conversations and shared moments can leave a lasting impression.

All eight episodes of Bonjour Bakery are now streaming on Rakuten Viki in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
