BLACKPINK is the first Korean girl group who performed a 2-days concerts in Malaysia

BLACKPINK drew 16,000-strong crowd to Stadium Malawati last weekend and headlined the 2-days concerts with a whopping 18-song set. The group's first show in Malaysia was so overwhelming that the concert tickets were completely sold and an additional show had to be added to its 2019 World Tour [In Your Area] schedule. The 1.5 hours concert in Malaysia - was without a doubt a blockbuster one for BLINKs. Let us rewind some of the best moments happen on the 23rd February concert day.

BLACKPINK Stage Is A Glowing

In hours before BLACKPINK took the stage at Stadium Malawati, thousands were seen lining up outside the venue, just waiting to get into the concert itself. All that waiting did not dim BLINKs enthusiasm as BLACKPINK lived up the massive hype with their powerful performances.

BLACKPINK performed all nine of their original songs as well as Jennie's solo track titled "Solo" and the collaboration track with Dua Lipa titled "Kiss And Make Up". BLACKPINK music itself is very upbeat, making it easy to jam out at the concert.

Kick-started with their greatest hits "Ddu Du Ddu Du" and "Forever Young", the songs got the crowd moving and jumping around while waving the official lightstick Pyong Bong (Hammer stick). During the opening break, the members greeted the fans in Malay and Jisoo's "Kami rindu padamu" definitely melted your hearts. After the greetings, BLACKPINK then moved on to perform "Stay" and transition seamlessly to "Whistle".

Each Member Solo Stage Won The Hearts of Many

Lisa dance performances - "Take Me" & "Swalla"

To top of the group songs, each member was given a chance to shine at their solo stages, allowing the crowd to be intimate with one member. Jisoo was first up, appearing on the glittering balls and covered Zedd's 'Clarity'. Listening to covers like this is so soothing and yet still enjoyable.

Lisa then took the stage solo and hyped the audience with the fast beat of "Take Me" and "Swalla". (ps: there's no doubt she is known as the dancing machine in the group.) Rose, however, showed her versatile side, singing a mash up with Beatles' "Let It Be", Park Bom's "You & I" and Taeyang's "Only Look At Me". Rose clearly takes the original, changes it, and owns it in her own distinct way.

Jennie then had the spotlight to herself by performing "Solo". Jennie's charisma on stage was fantastic. (ps: By watching each member unique solo stages we truly believe the members' individual singles will be a success.)

Closer to An End - Cover Songs

BLACKPINK version of "So Hot"

Closer to the end of the concert, BLACKPINK did a cover of Wonder Girls' "So Hot", which the members previously performed at SBS Gayo Daejeon. BLACKPINK made "So Hot" even hotter with a contemporary twist of the original music. BLACKPINK also served us a dance solo to "16 Shots" in the sexy black attire.

Encore Stage - One to Remember

A total of 8,000 crowd showed up at the Saturday's concert night

Fans went wild chanting and screaming for BLACKPINK when Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du was played once again. Hearing the 8,000 crowd singing their hearts out "Hit you with that Ddu du Ddu Du, Aye Aye" was pretty impressive. Before bidding farewell, Jennie commented, "It's our first time in Malaysia but we have received such a warm welcome. We'll come again." BLACKPINK then made a wonderful close with a rendition of "Stay".

Though it was just a 1.5 hour show, but BLINKs were happily exhausted from running on high for the entire show. We bet each and every stage performed last night will STAY forever in BLINKs' hearts. Hopefully we'll be able to see BLACKPINK's return with a full album, of course, not to miss out the members' individual singles.

Indie Sensation HYUKOH Showcases Amazing Indie Performances at KL LIVE in Malaysia

Cheers echoed the whole venue as fans gathered to see the one and only K-indie icon, HYUKOH to start their performances. The four-piece who was here in town successfully held their 2-hours show at KL LIVE on 20^th February 2019.

Malaysia is definitely no stranger to HYUKOH – the band held their first sold-out show gig back in 2017, as a part of Urbanscapes line-up. Fans were extremely lucky enough to see the band again as they brought “24: How to Find True Love and Happiness Tour” to KL, which was organized by U-Mobile and Upfront Arena.

Despite the event being held on a weekday, the venue still attracted over thousands of fans that came all the way from different cities and countries. Fans were full of anticipation and excitement, dressing up to fit in the edgy theme of the band - chattering away as they waited for their faves to appear on stage.

Starting off with the opening act Lost Spaces, the local band showed off their chill yet cool vibes as they played their first song. Fans were immediately hooked with their quirky unique sounds as they started jamming to their performance. The band had variety of different styles in their music, leaving no moment of dullness to the audience.

After the first local act performance, the show slowly transitioned as the lights started dimming and there was an EDM-like sound started playing in the background. Fans went wild as HYUKOH appeared on stage, performing their first intro song called 'SkyWorld'.

The stage was so hypnotizing, the lights changed to different neon colors whilst synchronizing to the beat of their songs, illuminating the whole stage to fit in the mood.

The band continuously performed couple of songs including ‘Wi lng, Wi lng,”, ‘Graduation’ and ‘Panda Bear’. The vibes that they gave off were simply mysterious, but it can be sometimes sad, and happy as well. hey were very honest and vulnerable towards their performances, pouring their hearts out to the sea of audience.

The fans were dancing and chanting to every lyric of their songs, leaving them feeling overwhelmed by their love and passion for the band’s music.

During the break between their songs, Oh Hyuk did mention that there is a reason why he named his album ‘How To Find True Love and Happiness’, he said

“Because I am still trying to find it, and I hope all of you guys will find it too”

The show resumed as HYUKOH performed other of their songs including, ‘Wanli’, ‘Goodbye Seoul’, and ‘Ohio'.

One of the highlights of the night was during ‘TOMBOY’ – the fans started using their phones to flash to their lights, waving and singing along to the song. Out of all the songs they performed, the singalong was the loudest. It was definitely an emotional moment as Oh Hyuk’s soulful voice simply pulled of their heartstrings with the melancholy performance. (Check out the video below!)

Fans were still eager for more of their songs, the band, without any hesitation encored the crowd with their all-time hit songs ‘Tokyo Inn’ and ‘Comes and Goes’.

It was definitely an intriguing experience attending HYUKOH’s live show, especially witnessing how unique and emotionally honest their performances are. With that being said, that is the reason why the band received so much love and support from fans. Hopefully we will get to see more of HYUKOH music in the future real soon.

iKON performed 'Love Scenario' & 'Killing Me' at the "Unleash Next Gen Bold" Event

To celebrate 10 years of Galaxy and the launch of its latest product innovation, the Galaxy S10 and S10+ in Singapore, Samsung held the Unleash Next Gen Bold event at Resorts World Theatre yesterday evening (21 February 2019). The exclusive event saw the unveiling of the latest member of the Galaxy S series together with a performance by K-pop sensation iKON.

At the Unleash Next Gen Bold event, over 1,500 Samsung and iKON fans had a chance to experience the revolutionary features of the Galaxy S10 and S10+ at various product zones. They got to watch a live performance by iKON, where fans also had the opportunity to take group selfies together with iKON using the Galaxy S10’s Ultra Wide Lens.

The skin is based on iKON's maknae, Chanwoo

iKON fans got to see a side of their idols they have never seen before, while a number of lucky fans took home special momentos and iKON merchandise. In addition, as part of a collaboration between Samsung, iKON and Fortnite, an exclusive Fortnite in-game iKONIC outfit and a Chan-woo scenario emote will also be exclusively available only for Galaxy S10 and S10+ customers.

#KPopTwitter Records 5.3 Billion Tweets Globally in 2018

2018 was a big year for KPOP, and with a new global record of 5.3 billion Tweets last year, Twitter continues to show that it's the best place to find out what's happening with KPOP and to talk about it with KPOP fans around the world!

Here are the top 20 countries (listed by region and in alphabetical order) that Tweeted the most about KPop in 2018:

North America: US, Canada
Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru
Europe: France, Turkey, UK
Asia Pacific: India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam

Twitter also collaborated with 34 KPop bands and over 200 artistes to create KPop content available exclusively on the platform, such as with BTS, EXO and GOT7. Through a variety of engagements such as live Q&A sessions via the #TwitterBlueroom, fun emojis created for album comebacks, and even special voting on the platform, Twitter has strengthened its position as the top conversation platform for the global KPop community. In particular, #TwitterBlueroom broadcasts have been viewed over 10 million times in 2018.

These pieces of content also provided advertisers with an opportunity to reach out to the young and highly engaged KPop fans on a global scale. As such, Twitter extended its In-Stream Video Ads (IVA) capabilities to KPop content. In-Stream Videos Sponsorships (IVS) was also introduced, allowing brands to insert pre-roll ads into video highlights of KPop #TwitterBlueroom.

#2018MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) - 56 million Tweets in Just Three Days!

Over the course of three days leading up the #2018MAMA Awards from 12 to 15 December last year, KPop fans interacted with each other on Twitter and set a new record of 56 million award-related Tweets, surpassing the 42 million award-related Tweets in 2017!

The Twitter's exclusive 'Worldwide Icon of the Year' award got fans voting for their favourite bands and artists on the platform, accumulating up to 13.3 million Tweets in just three hours! Fans used the hashtag #MAMAVOTE, which trended worldwide, ranking #1 in 44 countries.

BTS is the Most Tweeted Account in the World

2018 was BTS' year, and it showed on Twitter. BTS was ranked as the #1 most Tweeted about account for 2018 worldwide. A Tweet featuring BTS member J-Hope participating in the #InMyFeelingsChallenge was the Most Liked Tweet worldwide last year with 1.8 million Likes.

The impact of BTS has also been recognised in corporate advertising. In order to promote their new smartphone, LG Electronics launched an official Twitter channel called LGxBTS, sharing video clips of BTS at award ceremonies such as the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, paired with In-Stream Video Ads. The pre-roll ads featured in the clips garnered 20 million views and 8.7 million engagements, making headlines on Twitter.

Breaking Records - EXO's #TwitterBlueroom Watched by 1.6 million People Live!

In November, KPop boy group EXO garnered huge attention by generating more than 24 million Tweets through the hashtag #EXO_Tempo, in anticipation for their comeback album, "Don't Mess Up My Tempo".

Twitter's 'Instant Unlock' for Exclusive GOT7 Video Content

Fans of KPop boy band GOT7 (@GOT7Official) were in for a treat when they announced that their fans were able to view a series of behind-the-scenes production videos on Twitter related to their third studio album, Present: YOU, exclusively available through an instant unlock feature when they Tweeted with the #Lullaby hashtag. There were 2.4 million related Tweets over the 10 day campaign in October 2018.
