After a binge-worthy 2025 that saw audiences captivated by hit after Hallyu hit, including Nine Puzzles, Hyper Knife, Tempest, Made In Korea and more, Disney+ is dialing up the excitement in 2026 with an even broader slate of shows spanning more genres, featuring more twists, and starring more of your favorite stars than ever before.

An Adrenaline-Fueled Fan Favorite and a Fate-Filled Reality Series: 

Named one of The New York Times’ Best TV Shows of 2024, A Shop For Killers returns with Season 2 in 2026. Starring Lee Dongwook, Kim Hyejun, Jo Hansun, Geum Hannah, Lee Taeyoung and Kim Min alongside series newcomers Hyunri (Tokyo Vice Season 2), Masaki Okada (Drive My Car) and Jung Yoonha (Big Bet), Season 2 will follow Jian and her uncle Jinman as they turn the tables on their attackers and pursue the mercenary group Babylon. Set to debut later this year, prepare for more big-screen action and intensity when Season 2 arrives only on Disney+.

In the first half of the year, audiences’ faith will be challenged as Korea’s top fate readers – masters of shamanism, saju, tarot, foot reading, and more– are put to the test in a first-of-its kind reality series called Battle of Fates. From the creator of Culinary Class Wars, this upcoming series will pit 49 contestants against each other to see who’s the real deal in a series of challenges that will leave just one winner standing.

Greed, Desire And Human Drama: Gold Land, Made In Korea

This year greed and desire threaten to consume all when Gold Land and Made In Korea Season 2 drop on Disney+.

Featuring the Disney+ return of Park Boyoung, Gold Land follows Heeju, a woman who manages to escape the sleepy backwater town she grew up in, only to find herself in a world of trouble after discovering a coffin full of gold. Previously quiet and law-abiding, Heeju suddenly finds herself consumed by greed and driven by the prospect of a life she always dreamed of. Forced to run from the dangers that surround her, Heeju flees to the one place she swore she’d never return. Starring Park Boyoung (Light Shop), Kim Sungcheol (No Way Out: The Roulette), and Lee Hyunwook (MINE), this upcoming series is written by Hwang Joyoon (Old Boy) and directed by Kim Sunghoon (Confidential Assignment). 

Later in 2026, two of Korea’s most iconic stars, Hyun Bin and Jung Woosung return for round two when Made In Korea Season 2 drops on Disney+. After a dramatic first season that saw the corrupt KCIA powerhouse Baek Kitae repeatedly clash with the unyielding and tenacious prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, one unexpectedly came out on top. But with the victor now rapidly rising through the ranks, will the loser accept defeat or attempt to claw his way back into the ring? Find out when Season 2 arrives in late 2026.

True Love’s Year-Long Blossom

True love will once again be a highlight of the year on Disney+ with a whole string of romantic dramas lined up for audiences to enjoy.

Premiering in February, In Your Radiant Season is a heartwarming romance series about Chan, a man with a charming personality, and Haran a cold professional struggling with her past. As these polar opposites meet, something begins to change in both of them. Starring Lee Sungkyung (Dr. Romantic) as Song Haran, a luxury fashion house designer; and Chae Jonghyeop (Eye Love You) as Sunwoo Chan, a character designer at a global animation studio, the series is written by Cho Sunghee (Thirty But Seventeen) and directed by Jung Sanghee (Wonderful World).

In April, one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated romantic dramas, Perfect Crown, starring IU (When Life Gives You Tangerines) and Byeon Wooseok (Lovely Runner), arrives on Disney+. Set in an alternate 21st century where Korea is a constitutional monarchy, this romantic series follows a popular prince and the heiress to one of Korea’s biggest conglomerates as they scheme together for personal gain, only to later discover the meaning of true love. 

Slated to debut later this year, today’s newly announced title - The Husband (working title), is a romantic thriller about a man forced to face off against a ruthless criminal to rescue his kidnapped wife. Starring Namkoong Min (Our Movie) as Kang Taejoo, a neurosurgeon turned hospital director and Lee Sul (The Devil’s Call) as his kidnapped wife Ko Seyoon, the series is directed by Hyper Knife director Kim Junghyun.

Webtoon Worlds Brought to Life On Screen

With audiences across the globe falling in love with Moving, Light Shop, Vigilante, Low Life and other webtoon adaptations, in 2026 Disney+ will be building on this exciting legacy by working with creators to bring to life two popular webtoons - The Remarried Empress and Portraits of Delusion (working title).

Set in a fantasy world, The Remarried Empress tells the story of Navier, a perfect empress whose husband shocks her one day when he returns home with a mistress and demands a divorce. Unwilling to let the Emperor ruin her life, Navier grants his request but, in return asks to marry the rival prince of the Western Kingdom - igniting a tale of political intrigue, romance, and a fight to reclaim her stolen power. Starring Shin Mina (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha), Ju Jihoon (Light Shop), Lee Jongsuk (Big Mouth) and Lee Seyoung (The Red Sleeve), this upcoming series is written by Yeoh Geena (The Uncanny Counter) and Hyun Choongyeol, and is directed by Cho Suwon (Today’s Webtoon).

Based on the popular Naver Webtoon Delusion, Portraits of Delusion is a romantic mystery series about a heartbroken vampire in mourning. Hidden away from the world for the past 50 years, Jeonghwa regularly commissions portraits for her own use. One day Iho, a painter with a past, arrives at the hotel to begin his commission, but what he sees shocks him. Starring Suzy (Genie, Make a Wish) as Song Jeonghwa and Kim Seonho (The Tyrant) as the painter Yoon Iho, this upcoming series is directed by Han Jaerim (The King) and will debut in late 2026 exclusively on Disney+.

New Korean romantic comedy series, The Practical Guide to Love, starring Han Ji-min, Park Sung-hoon and Lee Ki-taek is set to make its streaming debut on Saturday, February 28 on HBO Max. 

The 12-episode TVING Original drama series portrays the struggle of finding love in this day and age, and presents a modern take on blind dating - following career-driven Lee Ui-young (played by Han Ji-min), in her pursuit to find love efficiently. 

On a quest to find her other half, she finds herself caught in an unexpected love triangle and drawn to two very different individuals. Starring Han Ji-min (Heavenly Ever After, Our Blues, Love Scout), Park Sung-hoon (Squid Game, The Glory) and Lee Ki-taek (Bon Appetit, My Happy Ending), The Practical Guide to Love is directed by Lee Jae-hun (Run On, Good Manager), with Hwangbo Sang-mi as Executive Producer. The series is written by Lee Yi-jin and produced by SLL.

For Ahn Bo-hyun, Sun Jae-gyu represented uncharted territory. "He's completely different from any characters I've played before. I'd been dying to work on a project where I could use a dialect," he shared. His commitment? Questionable fashion choices in the series (his words, not ours), serious muscle gains, and staying true to a character unlike any romantic lead we've seen.
Lee Joo-been was equally captivated by her role's complexity. "Yoon Bom isn't a character you see in series these days. To celebrate the global premiere of the highly anticipated romantic comedy series Can This Love Be Translated?, Netflix proudly announced an exclusive fan event featuring the series' lead stars, Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung. The event will take place on 16 January 2026, at Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta.

 

The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific unveiled its highly anticipated global general entertainment slate for 2026 at the Disney+ Originals Preview.  The star-studded event was held at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and featured top talent from the U.S., Korea, and Japan -- underscoring Disney’s creative momentum and its deepening commitment to bold, award-winning storytelling on the streaming platform. 

At the preview, Shōgun star and executive producer Hiroyuki Sanada, along with series co creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, took to the stage to discuss the spectacular storytelling that defined Season 1 as they prepare for production to commence for Season 2. In 2024,  Shōgun broke new ground and made history with a record 18 Emmy wins in a single season.

There were also sneak  peeks of all-new, star-studded original series and documentaries including Chris Hemsworth: A  Road Trip to Remember, the festive special, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie and Pole to Pole with Will Smith - a new series that follows Will Smith as he travels across all seven continents in  100 days. 

Additional highlights included the news that Alien: Earth will be returning for Season 2, as well as a preview of The Testaments, a gripping spin-off series that takes place a few years after the events in The Handmaid's Tale. There were also APAC previews of FX’s The Beauty, a highly anticipated global drama series from acclaimed producer Ryan Murphy; and Descendants:  Wicked Wonderland, a fresh installment in the beloved “Descendants” franchise introducing a new character, Chessy the Cheshire Cat, and a first look at Season 2 of the Australian Original,  The Artful Dodger, an irreverent follow-up to Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist exploring his adult double life in the far-flung penal colony of Port Victory, Australia. 

With its creative momentum on full display, The Walt Disney Company today also unveiled bold new stories from Korea and Japan that will soon debut on Disney+.
