BTS gave heart felted speech when receiving "Album of the Year" & "Song of the Year" Awards

CJ ENM announced that Asia’s biggest music awards ‘2018 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards)' came to a great finale in Hong Kong last Friday, 14 December 2018 concluding the week-long journey of ‘MAMA WEEK.’

'2018 MAMA in Hong Kong’s red carpet and award show was broadcasted live via Mnet and major channels throughout Asia, including Mwave, YouTube, Naver TV, V Live etc., covering over 200 regions worldwide. CJ ENM reported that during the red carpet alone, more than 9.2 million votes were casted for the ‘Best Asian Style’, and MAMA ranked number one for worldwide Twitter trends, solidifying MAMA’s global presence and buzz among global music fans.

This year’s '2018 MAMA in HONG KONG' was filled mega-stage performances combined with Mnet’s advanced stage production to create the best stages for Asia’s top artists. More than 14,000 fans gathered at the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena to see their favorite artists perform, which included a star-studded lineup: BTS, Chung Ha, GOT7, Heize, IZ*ONE, Roy Kim, WANNA ONE, Seventeen, Sunmi, etc.

MAMA was completed with artists from all across the globe to perform and present awards. Pop legend Janet Jackson not only surprised music fans with her appearance, but also took home the ‘Janet Jackson Inspiration Award.’ In addition, Asia’s top celebrities including JJ LIN and Shanghai-born actress Yeung Wing (stage name: Angelababy) also made a presence.

Collaboration stages presented just for MAMA fans transcended languages, generations, and genres, including: Chinese-Singaporean pop star JJ LIN and Kim Jong Kook, hip hop legends Tiger JK & Yoon Mirae and rising stars Chung Ha and Vernon (of Seventeen), and MOMOLAND together with Mommy Son.

Meanwhile, BTS took home two awards: ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’, and the team teared up as they delivered an emotional acceptance speech. Other big winners of the night included TWICE, who was also in tears are they won ‘Song of the Year’ for their song ‘What is Love?’

2018 MAMA started its journey with '2018 MAMA PREMIERE in KOREA' at Dongdaemun Design Plaza(DDP) in Korea on December 10th, followed by '2018 MAMA FANS’ CHOICE in JAPAN' at Saitama Super Arena on December 12th, and made its grand finale in '2018 MAMA in HONG KONG' on December 14th. 2018 MAMA concluded its most spectacular year joined by a total of 40 thousand fans onsite and another 32 million fans that had watched the show live online.

2 years after their last show in Singapore, the 7 charming boys of GOT7 finally returned to our sunny island on 4th August 2018 as part of their ‘Eyes on You’ world tour! GOT7 has been active since 2014, and consists of 7 members; Mark, JB, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom.

The concept for the world tour was based on their latest album release - ‘Eyes on You’. Following this, the stage setup was done with the idea of showcasing an eye (or half-opened eye, according to Mark), and the LED backdrops before the show started were also designed with the idea of showcasing an eye.

The show opened with a bang when the boys appeared on stage to perform ‘Hard Carry’, and the world stars continued to wow the crowd with popular tracks such as ‘Stop Stop It’, ‘If You Do’ and ‘Never Ever’. In order to gauge how passionate the members were during their dance stages, Yugyeom had to have an emergency wardrobe change due to his pants ripping from the powerful dance moves! The multi-talented boys were also able to showcase their powerful vocals by serenading the crowd with slower numbers such as ‘Prove It’ and ‘Firework’.

Of course, the boys did not forget to introduce themselves before firing questions away at each other during the breaks in between each set of performances. When asked what they did back at the hotel the night before, they excitedly mentioned chili crab as well as pepper crab! Ever-playful BamBam even offered to buy crabs for the audience when he realized nobody had their dinner yet before the show started. Jackson decided to tease the fans by sharing that he had a bubble bath in the hotel, and added on that it was a great experience.

When it came to sharing what they liked individually about Singapore, Jinyoung, Mark and Jackson tried to one-up each other, which resulted in a highly entertained Ahgase crowd.

Jinyoung: I like the Singapore fans!

Mark: I like the chili crab AND the fans!

Jackson: I like the fans, chili crab, and the night safari!

Ahgases were in for a special treat when the boys revealed that they had prepared special unit stages! The first power duo to take over the stage consisted of Jinyoung and BamBam, who heated the stage up with ‘King’. JB, Mark, and Youngjae then took over the baton and performed an emotional number – ‘Think About It’. The special unit segment was wrapped up by Jackson and Yugyeom, who drove the crowd wild with their stage for ‘Phoenix’!

The show concluded with ‘Thank You’ and it was easy to see how much love the boys had for their fans, and vice versa. Instead of heading backstage prior to the encore, the world stars continued to hype the crowd with ‘Look, ‘Fly’ and a bonus stage of ‘Go Higher’ where a water fight ensued! Ahagases, stay tuned as the boys revealed that a new album is currently underway and that the next time they’ll be back on our sunny island might only be a few months away!

Sunday Entertainment: Meet the Worldwide Favourite Artist, GOT7 in Malaysia

GOT7 headlined as the Worldwide Favourite Artist at MAMA 2016 on last Friday (2 Dec). They not only proved their enormous popularity in Korea but to the world as well. Right after the huge recognition, GOT7 headed to Malaysia for the third times for GOT7 Flight Log “Turbulence” in Malaysia. IGOT7 from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, China and more waited in eager anticipation for GOT7 arrival. More than thousands of fans thronged Mega Star Arena on Sunday (4 December 2016) to show their support to the boys.

GOT7 are no strangers to Malaysia, they filmed their first music video "A" in KL and held their first fans meeting set last year at KL Live. This year, GOT7 spared their time and moments with Malaysian fans. Jamming from the ballad song, Let Me til the hit songs, A - GOT7 getting people in the crowd to scream and chant frenzy during their performance.

Highlights of Q&A session:

All the members picked YoungJae and the Q&A session ended as YoungJae’s Day. Starting from singing, sexy dancing with Yugyeom and even rapping, no doubt that YoungJae is our all time favourite.

Highlights during the Game session – Guess the item inside the black box:

The boys were separated into 2 teams - the older team (JB, Jinyoung, Jackson, Mark) and the younger team (Bambam, Youngjae & Yugyeom).

Inside the black boxes were Star Fruit and Dragon Fruit, Bambam started by touching the fruit, he then said confidently:’ ohhh~ I’m from Thailand…’ and audiences burst into laughter as we knew what was inside the box.

Both teams got the correct answers but Jackson’s hilarious response made the audiences broke out into a bigger laughter. ‘Oh! I know it shaped like a star but I didn’t know it really called Star Fruit! I only know the Chinese name, 星果 (xing guo), said shockingly by Jackson.

The loser of the teams took Polaroid with the ugly pose and it was given to the lucky fans. Guess what? - the losers were Bambam and Jackson.

Highlights during the performance – Fans project:

The touching ambiance was filled when fans were holding the banners ‘함께 오래 오래 가자’ (let’s stay together for a long time).

Yugyeom: I love you~ GOT7 and IGOT7 will be forever together. We will work harder to come back.

Bambam: We have lots of memories here but we have not much time. We really hope to come back and have more time to perform here.

JB: They are many good things that happen recently, we even received a big award! GOT7 existence is because of you – IGOT7.

YoungJae: I’m very happy to come back to Malaysia~ I love you Malaysia.

Mark: 2016 is been a great year for GOT7 because of our fans. As what Bambam said we filmed one of our music videos here and so Malaysia always has a place in my heart.

Jinyoung: Our fan club name, Agasae in Korea actually means the small birds but actually our fans are like the big birds. How much you love us, we’ll love you more in return. I love you.

Jackson: Like I always say, without you guys we are nothing, we’ll not have GOT7, albums, even fans meeting, so we’re really thankful.

After all the sweet and tearing comments by the members, Jackson then lightened up the atmosphere and said in Cantonese: ‘I know the weather is hot but this doesn’t mean that you can wear shorts and show your legs’. ps: he’s acting like a jealous boyfriend
