MONSTA X Opens a New Chapter With ‘The Phase’

MONSTA X are back with a new chapter. The group released their new album ‘The Phase’ at 1 p.m. KST on Sept. 4, bringing together six tracks that reflect where the group stands now while looking ahead to what comes next.

Released through Starship Entertainment, ‘The Phase’ captures MONSTA X’s current musical identity through different moods and emotions, showing the group continuing to change, explore and expand even in their 12th year since debut.

Over the years, MONSTA X have continued to build their individual musical colours through group, unit and solo activities. On ‘The Phase,’ those experiences come together in a more refined form, while the group’s signature wit and relaxed energy add another layer to the album.

The six-track release features the title track ‘MAGIC’, alongside ‘Type X,’ ‘SURVIVOR,’ ‘Electric Heart,’ ‘That’s My Girl’ and ‘Sweet Night, Sweet Morning.’

At the centre of the album is ‘MAGIC,’ which offers a direct look at the mood and emotions of ‘The Phase.’ Rhythmic guitar sounds and strong beats are paired with the members’ layered vocals, while JOOHONEY, who participated in writing the lyrics, adds his own energy and musical colour to the track.

Ahead of the release, MONSTA X unveiled an album preview on Sept. 3, featuring snippets from all six songs alongside moments from the concept photo shoot. The preview highlighted the members moving through different moods while offering an early look at the varied sounds found across the album.

With years of musical experience, strong teamwork and continued activities across domestic and international stages, including their world tour, MONSTA X are continuing to push into new territory. Now, with ‘The Phase’ and ‘MAGIC,’ the group begins another chapter while showing that their musical journey is still moving forward.
