In celebration of Samsung Galaxy’s tenth anniversary, worldwide renown iKON has once again hit Singapore’s sunny shores last Thursday evening (21st February) for Samsung Galaxy’s “Unleash Next Gen Bold” event hosted at Resorts World Sentosa.

The South Korean boy group aggrandized the launch of Samsung’s upcoming state-of-the-art innovations, the Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10+. Their ever-supportive fans, iKONics, had turned the event into a red sea even prior to the start of the event. Before, their idols could step foot on stage, the audience was first introduced to the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10+, much enhanced from its forerunner, including upgrades like a triple-lens camera, Wireless PowerShare and more. All while the cheers of the fans were comparable to that of their solo concert in Singapore last November despite the event being private.

Fans were eager to see their idols as soon as the presentation ended, the night kicked off with their catchy hit “Love Scenario”. The grand crowd at the private event amounting to a whopping 1,500 cheered them on throughout, leaving the septet a bundle of cheery smiles.

When the crowd favorite finally came to an end, the talk section set for about 20 minutes began. Being a well-known avid gamer in the industry, member Chan-woo was smiling from ear to ear, as he spoke about the release of the Fortnite limited-edition skin and emote that features himself. In this same line of thought, for an exclusive period of time, a unique Fortnite in-game iKONIC outfit and a Chan-woo scenario emote will be made exclusively available for patrons of Galaxy S10 and S10+.

Shortly after, the members in lieu of the the contents of the event, started to have a discussion on what was their favorite feature of the new device. One of the members, Jin-hwan revealed that his preferred feature was that of the camera that could take selfies in a pretty manner as well as the triple, wide-angle lens that could be utilized well to take group photos together as 7 members. In accordance, they also showed their best selfie poses to the crowd.

They proceeded to take a group photo with the crowd as their segment was coming to an end soon. They then performed final songs “Bling Bling” and “Killing Me”, maintaining the high tension and energy throughout running to corners of the stage. As they thanked their fans, they proceeded to provide top-class fan service, offering to take selfies with fans’ phones or proceeding to high-five the fans up front.

Although it was only a one-hour event, the bittersweet parting with IKON was definitely a memorable and mesmerising night for fans of IKON, IKONics, ending with the members wishing that they have another chance to be able to visit Singapore again soon.
