Hyolyn hit the stage at the by-invitation-only PUMA CALI party held at Sentul Depot last Saturday, which also marked her first solo appearance in Malaysia. Organised by PUMA Southeast Asia, the event was held in conjunction with the PUMA #CaliTravelog campaign featuring the iconic PUMA Cali sneakers and Hyolyn, the campaign ambassador.

In line with the adventurous and fun “Cali vibes”, the venue was transformed into a boho-chic party ground with an array of free-to-play activities such as mini bungee for party-goers to participate with their friends, festival foods including burgers, popcorns, cotton candy from food trucks and stalls, all these set in a colorful Instagrammable space perfect for photo mementos.

In addition to fans and winners in Malaysia, the 500-strong turnout at the by-invitation-only event included regional media from Singapore and Indonesia, PUMA friends and brand ambassadors such as actress Dawn Yeoh and radio DJ Sonia Chew from Singapore. Malaysian celebrities such as DJ Cza, Charis Ow, Alexis Sue Ann, Koe Yeet and Hanan Helme were also in attendance.

The finale of the evening was the much-anticipated “live” performance by Hyolyn. Illuminating the stage with her impeccable choreography and powerful vocals, Hyolyn wowed the audience with her hit singles - 'SEE SEA', 'BAE' and 'Dally'.  Hyolyn’s signature dance move, the 'Dally' dance, got the audience to groove along with her.

Hyolyn spoke briefly between songs and shared her excitement to be in Malaysia for the PUMA CALI party with the host of the evening - popular Malaysian content creator, Jenn Chia. “Kuala Lumpur is one of the stops included in my World Tour and I am really excited to perform here again. It will be my chance to entertain the Malaysian audience and interact with my fans whom I dearly miss,” added Hyolyn.

To top of her solo tracks, Hyolyn sang 'My Love From the Star' OST, 'Hello, Goodbye' and surprised the packed audience with a mash-up of SISTAR's hit track, 'Shake It' and sub-unit SISTAR19's 'Ma Boy' (ps: those nostalgic feelings when the songs were played).

In addition to Hyolyn’s “live” performances, three exhilarated lucky fans were invited to do a dance-off with Hyolyn on stage, making this one of the thrilling highlights of the PUMA CALI party. Closer to the end, Hyolyn did a cover of 'Bang Bang' and she literally nailed every note.

Hyolyn is the face of the regional PUMA #CaliTravelog campaign in Southeast Asia that rolled out since January 2019. The 6-month campaign runs across in-store, out-of-home as well as online platforms in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. In addition to the by-invitation PUMA CALI party, fans of PUMA CALI stand a chance to win a ‘Cali Dream Trip’ (worth USD4000) and enjoy a unique holiday experience in California.

Kicking off their set with their oh-so-recognizable Love Scenario, the audience sang at the top of their voices; showing their enthusiasm after a two-month wait. An iKONic or not, we’re sure the audience enjoyed iKON’s biggest hit to their hearts’ content! The seven boys then took everyone a trip down the memory lane with My Type.

Much to everyone’s anticipation, the members finally greeted the hyped audience in fluent English. No strangers to our island, they expressed how much they missed Singapore with statements like “We really miss you guys” and “Long time no see, Singapore”. Leader B.I even made everyone laugh as he ended off with “Have a nice day”! The YG boys continued the night with nostalgic singles BLING BLING and Rhythm Ta. They put out an overwhelming of energy, looking at how the audience were enjoying.

Even on a humid Sunday night, the boys displayed their professionalism by never showing a sign of fatigue. They did tease fans a little, though – when Jinhwan commented “It’s super hot” during their second ment, Bobby suggested him to remove his clothes, which the former complied by opening the top of his shirt! Needless to say, this mischievous action received screams from the crowd.

As much as everyone couldn’t bear to, it was time for iKON to end the fun with B-DAY and Dumb & Dumber. We’re sure the boys gained a couple more fans this time, by exposing themselves to an audience beyond their usual iKONics!

Concluding his first Fan Meet tour, "Eternity", Ong Seongwu arrived on Singapore's shores on April 6. Prior to his visit as a solo act, he had been in Singapore thrice as a member of Wanna One in the years 2017 & 2018. The soloist kick started off the fan meet fervently with a personal take on Bruno Mars' "Treasure", showcasing immaculate choreography with a twist of his flavour on dance, making fans fall in love more.

Keeping the crowd of fans satisfied, the next part was called "Ong-Talk" where the artiste showed off the different parts of his life. The display being an interactive iPad aided the star, as he was hit with numerous questions. Having been well-known for his gags and witty humour, he instantly had fans doubling over with laughter at his answers and countenance.

Next was another tab on the iPad tablet, "Ong-stagram". It was a place to share his experiences throughout his overseas trips, including photos of the star himself and the many sights. Many times seen with his camera hanging around his neck, Seongwu is well known by fans to be a photography enthusiast. The crowd calmed from their previous bouts of chuckling and listened on intently to the different anecdotes of each picture taken. On the other hand, the solo artiste also took part in playing claw machine games to catch dolls and a game of luck, trying to determine which cup was real coffee out of 5.

The main spotlight of the day fell on this particular segment where Seongwu was shown a clause of text, and was guided on how to pronounce some singlish words. He was surprisingly able to smoothly enunciate the entire paragraph. The fan project, a video that had many fans and the star himself tearing up was a throwback on Seongwu's memories as part of Wanna One and the fans' supportive messages.

Following the emotional moment, Seongwu jumped back right on stage to perform a slow soothing ballad of Kim Jinho's "Love This Moment", expressing his feelings for the fans. To end off, Seongwu hopped on the stage to hype the crowd up again with his highly anticipated stage from the very first episode of survival show, Produce 101 Season 2, "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars.

 At the end of the event, it was clear that Seongwu had made the fans love him even more with the choice of programmes during the Fan Meet, the special stages holding much meaning to him making it all the more unforgettable.

Lai Kuan Lin kick-started his first solo fan meeting, 2019 Lai Kuan Lin Fan Meeting [Good Feeling] in Seoul this early April and is set to tour 4 different cities - Bangkok (20 April), Singapore (30 April), Taipei (4 May) and Hong Kong (11 May) to spend quality time with the fans. After completion of his first overseas tour in Bangkok, Kuan Lin will be heading to our sunny Singapore next week!

Korean actress and TV personality, Kim Jung-min returns to host the show along with K-beauty creator, makeup artist and influencer Kim Ki-soo and TV presenter active in Malaysia, Nadiyah Shahab. The trio will join forces and embark on a quest to compile a complete guide for Malaysian girls to look good and feel fabulous during the Hari Raya festivities.

CJ E&M HK and Astro continue their 2018 collaboration to co-produce this second season of Get It Beauty On The Road in Malaysia. Apart from adapting the winning format of popular Korean beauty programme, Get It Beauty, by exploring K-beauty trends and tips, the highlight of season 2 falls on defining beauty tips and tricks to celebrate Hari Raya, which is a popular festival celebrated in Malaysia. The host trio will inject on-trend K-beauty elements into the Malaysian traditions, giving it a modern touch.

Many Malaysians face similar beauty and wellness issues caused by the hot and humid tropical climate.
