On the 1st of October 2022, ‘The Star Theatre’ at ‘Star Vista’ hosted (G)I-DLE as 4000 fans, aka Neverland, waited eagerly as early as the afternoon. If you are just a passerby, you would be confused why people are giving out free banners. To enlighten you, this is a usual practice for K-POP concerts, whereby fan clubs would print out many banners to give to the fans before they enter the concert. (G)I-DLE fan clubs aren’t holding back this time round, too, especially since they know that this concert would have meant a lot since the lion city is their last and final stop for their “Just Me ( )I-dle World Tour”.Screams filled the entire room as the idols began the night with “Oh My God.” Neverland in Singapore was in for a treat, as this is the first time all the girls appear in blond (as part of their comeback for their 5th mini album, ‘I Love’). The performance was followed by “VILLAIN DIES” and “LATATA.”  Cheers continued filling the entire room when the idols performed “LATATA” since this was their debut song. After the 3 songs, the girls greeted Neverland, with Yuqi and Shuhua doing it in mandarin too. All eyes were on them as Neverland got to see the girls in their new appearance clearer, and trust me when I say this, they look drop-dead gorgeous. During the intermission, Soyeon mentioned that this concert in Singapore is significant since it’s the last city of their world tour. The performance then moved to the next segment, with “Moon”, “Already”, and “HWAA”. At this point in time, the concert has already reached the halfway mark unknowingly. The girls went backstage to change into their third outfit while the 2nd VCR played. Familiar music can be heard as the girls returned with their changed outfits and performed “LION”, which the fans cheered loudly. Isn’t this the most appropriate song to serve in the lion city? (Imagine if they’ve changed the lyrics to “I’m a queen like a merlion”). After this strong performance, they switched things up to a rock concept song, “LIAR”. The performance got elevated to the next level when the girls requested the audience to stand up while they performed “Never Stop Me”. The standing ovation continued with the girls performing “Uh-Oh”.Before moving to the next song, the idols taught Neverland the hand choreography for “My Bag”. As they performed the song, Neverland didn’t disappoint and made the hand motion as soon as the chorus hits. This song was followed by “POP/STARS.” Afterwards, the girls took a turn expressing their thoughts about the concert since it was coming to an end soon. Below is what the girls said about the show.

With the crowd chanting encore, the girls returned with "i'M THE TREND". The backdrop was done beautifully for this segment as well. Before their last song, the idols thanked the fans again and mentioned that Singapore holds special memories for them, as this was the first country they've visited to prepare for their debut, and now the same city will be the one that's wrapping up their World Tour. With this, they promised the fans that they'll be back soon. They concluded the concert with "Escape" and thanked the fans again. The show ended with a group picture. While I enjoyed the whole concert, the location was a pity, and hopefully (G)I-DLE can hold the show at an indoor stadium instead. With a small stage, the girl group performed the whole concert w/o any backup dancers. The stage presence was thus lacking a bit since the 5 girls alone couldn’t fill the stage. And given the restraints of the star theatre, the performance and choreography become limited. (You can compare this performance with that of Seoul’s).

E.L.F (known as Ever Lasting Friends, their fandom name) kickstarted their September at Singapore Indoor Stadium with their 8 beloved members – Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun. Despite the late announcement, the venue was still filled with a sea of beautiful sapphire blue lightsticks, also the fandom’s official colour.

Before the show commenced, fan support such as banners and even bubble tea (to battle the afternoon heat) were distributed by fans outside the venue. We must say fan service is not just given by idols themselves!

The group finally appeared and started their Super Show with songs like ‘Burn The Floor’, ‘The Crown’, ‘Super’ and ‘Mr Simple’. The atmosphere then turned slightly darker and more magical, with the members performing ‘Ticky Tocky’, ‘Paradox’ and ‘Mystery’ in glittery black outfits.

It was then time for their long-awaited first greeting! Starting off with Shindong saying “Sing-sing-Singapore” and ending with Leeteuk’s “Singapore-pore-pore”, the members incorporated their knowledge of the country with languages like English, Mandarin and even Singlish:

“We super long never meet liao,” Kyuhyun drove the audience into laughter.

“Nice to meet you la”, Eunhyuk added to the Singlish.

Members like Kyuhyun and Siwon also spoke some Mandarin, visibly remnants of their Super Junior-M (standing for Mandarin, one of their sub-units) days. After greeting their fans, K.R.Y, one of their sub-units, took things slower with ‘I Can’t’, blowing everyone’s minds with their solid live vocals. 

The whole group then appeared on stage again with ‘Believe’, a song specially prepared for Singapore E.L.F.

Kyuhyun: “Yeah… I wasn’t here yet,” the youngest member sent fans laughing once again.

Super Junior lifts the atmosphere again with an amusing ‘God of Music’ segment, where they cosplayed as famous musicians and churned out songs like ‘SPY’, ‘MAMACITA’, ‘Rokkugo’ in opera-musical versions. They also got upclose and personal with fans while performing at the extended stage!

While the group heads backstage, D&E, another of their sub-units, kicks off a rock medley with ‘B.A.D’ and ‘Danger’. The remaining members joined later with rock versions of ‘Bonamana’, where leader Leeteuk even removed his shirt, and of course the legendary ‘Sorry Sorry’.

Much to ELF’ sadness, it was time for the group’s closing speeches.

Shindong: “Just like good friends, it’s not about meeting often, but how it still feels the same after so long. That’s how I feel with Singapore ELF.”

Ryeowook: “After we arrived in Singapore, we didn’t sleep well because we were so nervous. At backstage, I see members looking exhausted, but still trying their best to put up a good show. I don’t know how long we can keep our energy going, but we’ll try our best so we can see our Singapore fans for a long time.”

Yesung: “So many thoughts crossed my mind during the last stage. Even though we couldn’t meet for the past few years, I can still feel your love from afar.”

Siwon: “Actually I invited 30 of my friends here today! So we’ve all been looking forward to this moment. Did you guys enjoy tonight?”

Eunhyuk: “Honestly, I went through a difficult 1 month. I had a lot of worries and concerns before I finally got to meet you. There was a space in my heart that was left empty, but seeing all of you today, I think that empty space has been filled up.” The main dancer also received audible cheers and encouragement from the fans, and Siwon was also seen comforting him for the rest of their time on stage.

Throughout the 3-hour jam-packed concert, Super Junior brought their fans through a roller coaster ride of comedic and sentimental moments. The members lived up to the title of their concert by making use of props, eye-catching stage set-ups and delivering magnificent performances - a Super Show indeed! The pioneers of the industry show that age’s got nothing on them, proving the true entertainers that they are.

Korean actor Hwang In Youp dropped by Singapore for the first time on 30 July 2022 for his 1st Asia Fan Meeting Tour. Held at Capitol Theatre, the heartthrob enchanted fans with his sweet smile, live singing and generous fan-interactions. 

Prior to the fanmeeting that evening, a fansign was held for VIP ticket holders, treating the fans to exclusive interactions even before the show starts! Before entering the venue, fans could also write questions for Hwang In Youp in the form of post-its, where they will be placed on a board and shown to the actor during the event itself.

At 6PM, the actor kicked off the fanmeeting by performing his solo OST 'Starting Today' from the drama which shot him to fame, 'True Beauty'. 

Introducing himself after the song, Hwang In Youp said it's his first time in Singapore, and feels the country is beautiful. "The fans here are as beautiful as the country," added the actor, leading to an avalanche of cheers from the audience.

Local delicacies are not to be missed out when in a new country! The star mentioned that he has tried chilli crab and asked for other recommendations, to which fans, also endearingly known as HIYLIY, replied with examples like chicken rice and even durian.

In lieu of the country's upcoming National Day, a quiz was prepared for Hwang In Youp to test how much he knows about the sunny island. With assistance from the fans, he managed to get all six questions correct and was treated to a local snack - kaya toast!

"Shiok!" the host taught Hwang In Youp to describe the taste in local language, which means 'enjoyable'.

After savouring the local toast, five lucky fans were picked to receive polaroid photos from the actor onstage. 

Moving on to the Q&A session, Hwang In Youp satisfied fans' curiosity by answering selected questions. One of them requested him to have a staring contest with her and much to fans' envy, he carried out the request with the fan onstage!

When another fan asked Hwang In Youp to sing a song for her birthday which was the next day, the very sweet actor requested the audience to sing together, as he feels it'll be more wholesome for the birthday girl.

Before ending off the Q&A, the actor treated fans to five different heart poses.

Returning for the second half of the fanmeeting with a fresh outfit, Hwang In Youp surprised fans by appearing through one of the event doors and walking around the audience!

The atmosphere was then toned down when the actor proceeded to speak about his experiences in his various roles.

"In The Sound of Magic, my character had a habit of scratching. I myself tend to have a habit of clasping my lips when I try to hold my laughter. This was applied to 'Why Her?' too," Hwang In Youp expressed. He even carried out the 'Okey Dokey Youp' challenge, fulfilling his promise towards his fans!

Afterwards, it was time for another interactive segment. Much to eager fans' delight, lucky ones were picked via lucky draw to play games with their favourite celebrity. "Ddakji', a hand balance game and a staring contest were the games played!

When a young fan finished the game with Hwang In Youp, the actor even asked for her parents' permission to hug her, showcasing his gentlemanly qualities. The very fortunate fans were also each given a polaroid. The star then gave away one last gift which was a traditional Korean fan, personalized by none other than himself.

Throughout the fanmeeting, Hwang In Youp displayed many positive traits of himself. One example was using his right hand despite being a left-hander during the 'ddakji' game, even if it means putting himself at a disadvantage.

"Hwang In Youp is always nice and polite to people around him. He actually did a lot of spontaneous things today, like decorating & giving away the traditional fan!" The host was also full of praises for the actor.

The fanmeeting concluded with a short thank you speech from Hwang In Youp, and serenading the fans with 'I Mean It', a soundtrack from his drama 'The Sound of Magic'.

After a long wait of three years, NCT 127 finally performed a full-fledged concert in our sunny island last weekend for their NCT 127 2ND TOUR NEO CITY: Singapore - THE LINK at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The concert officially kicked off with the group performing to ‘Kick it,' a song that paved the high energy and vibes for the night, fans were screaming enthusiastically while waving with their official lightsticks.

Without a moment of delay, the group kept the energy high with hits ‘Lemonade’ and ‘Simon Says’. The group also performed pop tracks ‘Elevator’, ‘Dreamer’, and ‘Love Song’ before members of the group have the opportunity to perform for the fans on their solo stage.

The first member, Taeil, took the solo stage first with his song "Another World," and his euphonious voice undoubtedly touched the hearts of the audience. The following member Haechan immediately joined Taeil for their subsequent duet song ‘Love Sign’, a song that highlights their perfect vocal abilities.
Members of the group Jaehyun and Doyoung both mesmerized the fans with their solo songs ‘Lost’ and 'The Reason Why It’s My Favorite’. The energetic dance performance by Taeyong and Mark to "The Himalayas" upped the energy of the event while Taeyong then continued a solo performance to 'Moonlight,' stripping his top off, fans were definitely in for a treat that night. Both Jungwoo and Johnny displayed a polished dance routine that featured incredible hip moves and body waves.
The group kept the audience captivated with the songs 'The Rainy Night,' 'White Night,' and 'Back 2 U,' where each member had a chance to display their stunning vocals in harmony with one another.

The group played hits like ‘Favorite,’ 'Bring The Noize,’ ‘Love On The Floor,’ ‘Cherry Bomb,’ and ‘Sticker’ as the show came to a close. The final few songs were delivered magnificently and astoundingly in a setting that couldn't have been more perfect.

The group spoke briefly to the fans, telling them how glad they were to be in Singapore and how much they loved our crabs. The members and fans surprised Taeyong with a Happy Birthday song, and he undoubtedly felt their affection that evening.

Before calling the ideal evening to a close, the group sang their final songs, 'Dreams Come True' and 'Promise You,' in which they expressed their gratitude for all of the love and support they have received over the years and their promise to return to Singapore soon.

Earlier this year, on the 12th of February, ITZY made their public appearance in the K-pop music industry with their hit debut single "Dalla Dalla" which got them the record for the fastest K-pop debut music video to reach 100 million views. With a blend of addicting EDM, house, and hip-hop together with lyrics describing their distinct style "I'm different from other kids/Don't try to measure me by your standards", they are one of the leading girl groups for 2019. The girl group has kicked off their debut showcase tour 'ITZY? ITZY!' with the first show in Jakarta, and will be bringing their world tour around Asia.

Heading to Singapore to put on a spectacular show last Friday was their first. The members of ITZY brought their sprightliness and vividness with flashy choreography along with their sweet vocals to the fans in Singapore.

The showcase started with their lead single "Icy", which the pre-chorus lyrics "Icy but I'm on fire" that serves as the lead-up to the dynamic chorus of the song was highly complimented. The energy continues to rise with the next song "IT'z SUMMER" rising the atmosphere in the venue causing fans singing and waving their hands along.

Kicking off the next segment 'Question? ITZY!' with a series of questions. One of the questions asked was where is the one place ITZY wants to visit in Singapore. Yeji mentioned she would like to visit Marina Bay as it is one of the most famous tourist spots in Singapore and as people mentioned they could see the heart of the country in it. Lia also mentioned that they managed to catch a glimpse of the Marina Bay Sands from the opposite side and took photos with it. Following up when asked about their proudest moments as part of ITZY, Chaeryeong wanted to express her greatest gratitude towards MIDZYs. The tremendous loud cheers from the fans gave them huge support while they were performing for a big award ceremony.

The next segment titled 'Guess The Song Quiz' was both a party for ITZY and MIDZYs as the members showed their liveliness through their dance moves while guessing to the song. Sunmi's "Gashina", GOT7's "You Calling My Name", IU's "BBIBBI", TWICE's "Fancy" and lastly BTS's "Idol" were the songs ITZY had to make a guess as a team.

The members of ITZY perfectly covered songs from their seniors in JYP Entertainment with  TWICE's hit song "TT" and GOT7's "Hard Carry". The members definitely showcased their versatility from cute to girl crush and embellishing it with their own charisma.

The members also put up a performance to "Cherry" with the screams of MIDZYs overwhelming the venue. As the night was coming to an end, the girls round up the show with "WANT IT" and their lead single "Dalla Dalla". The members expressed their gratitude for the MIDZYs that were constantly cheering and supporting them with their fullest while they were performing on stage. Yuna pinky-promised concertgoers that they will come back next year. Ryujin mentioned that this is just the beginning, and they will definitely come back to Singapore. The members concluded the show with a line "MIDZYs, only trust ITZY". Having a world tour on their first year in the industry, it truly shows why ITZY is making a hit. We look forward to more amazing performances from the girls in the future.
