MONSTA X has once again proven their global staying power, earning recognition across both the US and UK as they enter their tenth year as a group.
On December 16, UK magazine DAZED revealed its list of “The 30 Best K-pop Tracks of 2025”, naming MONSTA X’s “Do What I Want” among the selected songs. DAZED cited the group’s strong musical identity and high level of completion as key reasons for the track’s inclusion, highlighting how MONSTA X continues to stand out in a fast-changing K-pop landscape.
“Do What I Want” was pre-released in September ahead of the official launch of the mini album “THE X”. The song was composed by member Joohoney, with lyrics written by Joohoney and I.M. Together, the track captures the confidence and raw energy of a decade-long career, delivering a refined but fearless sound that offers listeners a powerful sense of release.
DAZED noted that even after completing military service, MONSTA X shows no intention of letting go of the intense chaos that defined their early years. Instead, the publication observed that the new song strengthens their signature style even further. The magazine also pointed out that as a third-generation group in the era of fifth-generation idols, MONSTA X choosing to stay true to the music that fits them best feels especially timely as they mark their 10th anniversary.
The praise ended on a simple but striking note, with DAZED stating that the music is truly outstanding. The comment underscored how MONSTA X continues to combine their trademark intensity with the depth that comes from experience, maintaining an irreplaceable presence through their sound alone.
This recognition aligns with the group’s recent achievements. MONSTA X took home two awards at the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025, winning AAA Best Artist and AAA History of K-pop. The confidence highlighted by DAZED was also acknowledged on stage, reaffirming the group’s long-standing impact.
Earlier, MONSTA X released the mini album “THE X” in September, debuting at No. 31 on the Billboard 200. The album also charted on World Albums, Independent Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales and the Billboard Artist 100, further demonstrating the group’s continued global reach.
That momentum has carried into their current US activities. As part of the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, MONSTA X performed in major cities including New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC. Their shows were met with explosive sing-alongs from local fans, showcasing why they are widely regarded as a group you can trust to deliver on stage.
MONSTA X will wrap up the Jingle Ball Tour with a performance in Miami on December 20. They will then begin their new world tour, “THE X : NEXUS”, with three nights at Seoul’s KSPO DOME from January 30 to February 1, 2026, officially launching the next chapter of their global journey.
