A Beautiful Chapter Rewritten as Wendy Meets Malaysian Luvies Again
Wednesday, December 24, 2025After an eight-year wait, Kuala Lumpur Reveluvs—also known as Luvies—were finally reunited with Wendy through her first-ever solo concert Wendy 1st World Tour “W:EALIVE” in Kuala Lumpur. Wendy last visited Kuala Lumpur in 2017 with Red Velvet, first in April for the mini album Rookie promotions, followed by a return in May for the I-Seoul-U Concert, a K-pop promotional event. Her return this year marked a meaningful and long-awaited moment for both the artist and her Malaysian fans.
On 20 December 2025, Wendy returned to Kuala Lumpur as a soloist with her W:EALIVE World Tour, held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur. The concert began at 7:30PM and lasted approximately three hours, featuring songs from her latest release, Cerulean Verge, her third mini album. As Wendy shared during the show, the setlist was personally curated by her to deliver a dynamic and emotionally rich experience, accompanied by a full live band.
The concert opened on a striking note with Wendy delivering an a cappella rendition of the chorus from “Fireproof.” Her powerful vocals immediately sent chills through the crowd and warmed up the atmosphere, setting the tone for the night. The first segment featured energetic tracks such as “Hate²” and “Queen of the Party,” before transitioning into a softer, lovely session with songs like “Why Can’t You Love Me” and “Best Ever.”
The concert then shifted into a deeply emotional segment, featuring heartfelt performances of “His Car Isn’t Yours,” “Like Water,” and “When This Rain Stops.” During “Like Water,” fans surprised Wendy by turning the venue into a blue ocean as part of a fan project. Wendy jokingly shared that she was so immersed in her emotions while singing that she only noticed the blue lights after completing the first verse, drawing laughter from the audience.
Wendy continued with an OST medley, including “Goodbye” from the 2018 K-drama The Beauty Inside and “Two Words” from the popular 2020 drama Start-Up, followed by “Airport Goodbye,” produced by The Black Skirts. She mentioned that many of her OSTs are emotional ballads, but she intentionally included the cheerful “If I Could Read Your Mind” from Yumi’s Cells to uplift the mood.
Another standout moment was “Chapter You,” one of only two English songs in Wendy’s discography and one of her personal favorites. She described the song as a romantic journey shared with someone special, symbolizing a meaningful chapter in life. Wendy expressed her gratitude, stating that without her fans, she would not have been able to tour, release new albums, continue singing, or dream about her future. She described the night as a beautiful chapter to remember forever, not only for herself but also for her fans.
With Christmas just five days away, Wendy shared the festive spirit by wishing fans an early Merry Christmas and treating Luvies to a short cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Throughout the concert, Wendy spoke warmly about Malaysia, sharing her interest in local cuisine such as nasi lemak, roti canai, char kuey teow, and satay, which she had tried the day before. She expressed her desire to return for future performances and to spend more time exploring the country, mentioning destinations such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Batu Caves, Langkawi, and Penang, while joking with fans about visiting together.
The main set concluded with “Existential Crisis,” during which Wendy encouraged fans to sing along, keeping the energy high until the very end. Even after the song ended, the atmosphere remained electric as Wendy reappeared on stage wearing a Christmas shawl for the encore performances of “Wish You Hell” and “Sunkiss.”
“Our story won’t end even after the concert is over. I will always be by your side through my songs and my voice.” The closing VCR further emphasized her message, stating that fans are the most precious gift in her life and the biggest reason she continues to sing.
During the final sign-off session, Wendy walked around every corner of the venue, including the upper levels, to personally bid farewell to fans. The night concluded with unforgettable memories, heartfelt emotions, and a promise of future reunions between Wendy and her Malaysian fans.
