Kuala Lumpur’s homegrown idol sensation KLP48 is ready to take center stage for a momentous celebration. The group will mark their first anniversary with a special concert titled 〜BLOOM〜, set to take place on Saturday, August 16 at 5.30PM at Zepp Kuala Lumpur.

Since their debut, KLP48 has rapidly become a fan favorite, winning hearts across Malaysia with their vibrant energy, powerful performances, and undeniable charm. The 〜BLOOM〜 concert promises to be a culmination of their year-long journey, with every member currently deep in final rehearsals to deliver a show worthy of the milestone.

This isn't just any anniversary show. KLP48 will be joined by some of the region’s most exciting acts. Jakarta-based JKT48, Indonesia’s representative sister group under the AKB48 family, will take the stage alongside Malaysia’s rising R&B-pop star Ismail Izzani and the dynamic girl group COËX. Together, these acts will create an electrifying night of music and connection.

Fans can expect a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy as KLP48 reflects on their past year while setting the tone for their future. From signature group hits to surprise collabs, 〜BLOOM〜 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated idol events of the year.

The global legacy of AKB48 continues to grow as its Malaysian sister group, KLP48, kicks off auditions for its highly anticipated second generation. Dubbed “BLOOM,” the KLP48 2nd Generation Audition is now open to young female talents aged 13 to 23 of all nationalities who dream of becoming the next big idol.

Following an explosive debut year that saw KLP48’s popularity reach beyond Malaysia and into Japan, the group is ready to expand its roster. Since their formation under AKB48’s international franchise, KLP48 has taken the stage with growing acclaim, even earning performance invites in Japan. Now, a new group of fresh faces will have the chance to carry on that momentum.

Applications are open from now until 1 August 2025 via klp48audition.com, where hopefuls must submit a video of up to 90 seconds showcasing their singing and/or dancing skills, along with other requested materials.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an on-site screening in Kuala Lumpur on 23 and 24 August, and those who advance will move on to the final audition round on 6 and 7 September.

KLP48 is managed by 48 Entertainment Sdn Bhd and is officially licensed by Superball Co Ltd. It stands as the tenth overseas sister group of AKB48, joining the ranks of JKT48 (Jakarta), BNK48 (Bangkok), MNL48 (Manila), and others across Asia. AKB48 itself holds the Guinness World Record for the Largest Pop Group in the World.
