Starring Kim Ji-yeon as Yoon Ha-na and Park Seo-ham as Jung Woo-jae, the drama follows Ha-na, a top actress whose life takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious incident causes her to swap bodies with her twin brother, Yoon Ha-ru, a national judo athlete. The two travel back in time, where Ha-na, trapped in her brother’s body, encounters her first love, Woo-jae, who died while protecting her. Determined to prevent his death, she faces a race against fate that brings emotional moments, unexpected twists and plenty of comedic situations.
We had the opportunity to speak with the drama’s lead stars, Kim Ji-yeon and Park Seo-ham, through an exclusive email interview, where they shared their memorable filming experiences, thoughts on fate and the scenes they are most excited for viewers to see.
For Kim Ji-yeon, the project was particularly enjoyable as it allowed her to portray Ha-na at different stages of her life, from her teenage years and university days to adulthood as an actress in her 30s. With numerous comedic scenes throughout the drama, she admitted that holding back her laughter was sometimes a challenge, but she looks forward to seeing how those moments turn out on screen.
Among her favourite scenes is one in which Woo-jae confesses his feelings while Ha-na is in Ha-ru’s body. Kim Ji-yeon highlighted the reactions of Ha-na and Ha-ru as they listen to Woo-jae’s sincere confession as a particularly entertaining point for viewers, adding another layer of humour to the drama’s romantic moments.
When asked whether she would take the opportunity to change a moment in her own past, just as Ha-na does, Kim Ji-yeon shared that she prefers to believe in and accept fate. She has no regrets about the life she has lived, although she joked that if she could experience something as mysterious as the events in Dive Into You, knowing the winning lottery numbers in advance would be a welcome bonus.
Meanwhile, Park Seo-ham fondly recalled filming the high school scenes with Kim Ji-yeon in Donghae. The beautiful locations, spontaneous ad-libs and laughter made the experience especially memorable, reaffirming the natural chemistry they shared on set. He also expressed his gratitude towards Kim Ji-yeon, describing her as a considerate co-star who made him feel reassured throughout filming.
For Park Seo-ham, the question of rewriting fate is not so straightforward. While part of him would like to seize the opportunity, another part wonders whether it is truly possible to rewrite one's destiny perfectly, without any regrets. Having worked hard throughout his journey and treasured every moment along the way, he feels he has no regrets significant enough to make him want to change his past.
As for the scene he is most excited for viewers to see, Park Seo-ham pointed to the moment when Ha-na and Ha-ru return to the past after losing Woo-jae, hoping to save him. He teased that viewers will enjoy watching Woo-jae become confused by just how much the two have changed, promising another entertaining turn in the story.
Blending heartfelt romance with body-swapping comedy and the emotional weight of second chances, Dive Into You asks whether love can overcome even the most tragic twists of fate. With Kim Ji-yeon and Park Seo-ham bringing warmth and humour to their characters, the drama invites viewers to discover whether Ha-na can change the future without losing what matters most.
Catch Dive Into You on Viki every Saturday and Sunday, and follow Ha-na and Woo-jae’s journey as they navigate love, time and the possibility of a different destiny.
