Kim Myung Soo Turns Nostalgia Into Something New in Kuala Lumpur

It has only been a year since Kim Myung Soo returned to Malaysia with INFINITE, but this time, he came back with something much more personal. Held on 27 June 2026 at Mega Star Arena, 2026 KIM MYUNGSOO (L) FAN-CON ASIA TOUR <UNCHANGED> in Kuala Lumpur was more than a concert. It was an evening where the INFINITE member blended music, games and heartfelt conversations into a fan meeting that felt warm from beginning to end.

Myung Soo made it clear that he had prepared something special for Kuala Lumpur. He shared that he had put together a new setlist and even prepared new choreography especially for this stop. The effort showed throughout the night as he moved seamlessly between INFINITE classics, solo releases and even an unreleased song.

The fan-con opened with Way You Are by INFINITE, with Myung Soo immediately reminding everyone why he remains one of K-pop's most beloved performers. His visuals drew loud cheers, but it was his steady live vocals that truly set the tone for the night. The nostalgia continued with 1/3, bringing fans back to INFINITE's golden era.

The first talk segment quickly turned into one of the funniest moments of the evening when Myung Soo surprised everyone by greeting fans in Malay.

"Dah lama tak jumpa korang wei, rindu korang giler!"

The crowd erupted before he followed it up later in the evening with "I sayang you" and an even more enthusiastic "I sayang giler you," earning nonstop laughter and cheers from the audience. His playful delivery made the moment feel natural, as if he had been waiting to say those phrases all night.

Between performances, the fan-con lived up to its name with interactive game sessions. One lucky group of fans who successfully answered every question advanced to the final round and walked away with exclusive gifts from Myung Soo.

Another game had fans guessing what choice he would make in different situations. One question asked whether he would rather climb the stairs up KLCC and take the lift down, or take the lift up before walking down. Most fans confidently chose the second option, only for Myung Soo to surprise everyone by choosing to climb all the way up before taking the lift down. When fans reminded him that KLCC has 88 floors, he laughed and insisted the game was about what he would choose, not what the fans would choose. He even joked that climbing the stairs sounded fun because it was good exercise, leaving the audience completely speechless and laughing.

Back on stage, Myung Soo treated Kuala Lumpur to One More Time a song he specially added to the setlist for the Malaysia stop, before slowing things down with Talk To You and the bright, refreshing Blue Summer, turning the venue into what felt like a summer party.

The emotional atmosphere continued with My Universe, one of the standout songs from his solo discography, before fans were given an unexpected surprise. Myung Soo performed Stay Close, an unreleased track that he revealed would be included in his next album. Hearing a brand new song before anyone else made the performance feel especially exclusive.

For longtime INSPIRITs / OVEPIRIT, one of the biggest highlights arrived when Myung Soo performed Heartthrob, originally by INFINITE F. It was a nostalgic moment that many never expected to experience live again, bringing back memories from years ago.

The encore kept the warm atmosphere going with Memory and Love U Like U. During both songs, Myung Soo stepped off the main stage and walked around the audience, signing albums, taking selfies and giving heart gestures to fans. It became one of the night's most memorable fan service moments. While some parts of the crowd became slightly disorganised as fans gathered closely around him, Myung Soo continued doing his best to interact with as many people as possible.

The night ended with What's Not to Love, a fitting finale that left one simple thought in everyone's mind: what's not to love about Kim Myung Soo? Before saying goodbye, every fan was also treated to a personal hi-bye session, giving everyone a chance to see him up close one last time.

Throughout the evening, what stood out most was not only the performances, but the amount of thought Myung Soo put into making this fan-con different. From preparing a Malaysia-exclusive setlist and choreography to speaking Malay, playing games and sharing an unreleased song, every part of the show reflected his appreciation for the fans who came to see him.

For one night in Kuala Lumpur, nostalgia met new memories, proving that while the title may have been UNCHANGED, Kim Myung Soo continues to find new ways to connect with the people who have supported him through every chapter of his career.
