You’ve never seen something like this before!

D.P. is set to fascinate with its story about young private An Jun-ho (Jung Hae-in) serving within the Deserter Pursuit Unit as a part of his compulsory military service. Jun-ho joins his senior Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan) who teaches him the ropes of how to capture military deserters. The series follows the duo as they come across different deserters who have their own reasons for abandoning their posts. Check out some reasons why this series is a must-watch below.

1. Humorous Bromance
While the subject matter of pursuing military deserters may seem very dark and heavy, D.P. has a fun, comedic side as well. Most of the humorous moments come from the bromantic chemistry between Jun-ho and Ho-yeol. While Jun-ho is taken aback by Ho-yeol’s quirky personality at first, they become in tune with each other and grow into being a great duo. Ho-yeol, in particular, will make you laugh with his comments and unique methods.

2. Ordinary Yet Extraordinary
While military service is mandatory, the Deserter Pursuit Unit is not widely known amongst the general public. The series will introduce different soldiers with their own set of difficult predicaments as we watch Jun-ho and Ho-yeol chase after them. Relatable social issues will be touched upon as we realize the army deserters are struggling with their painful realities. The stories are ordinary because of how they resonate with us, but also extraordinary since most of us are not privy to these kinds of situations.

3. Talented Cast
The main cast members are all known for their talent and portraying memorable characters. Jung Hae-in, who is well loved for his romantic roles, will be taking on a different type of character and genre this time. Koo Kyo-hwan has been called a rising star since his notable performances in films like Peninsula, Maggie, and more. Kim Sung-kyun is known for his diverse characters in both films and series. Likewise, Son Suk-ku selects unique characters and works each time. In addition to them, there’ll be many exciting cameos to look forward to.

4. Korean Military Service Experience
Conscription is mandatory for all male citizens in Korea, but it’s not as familiar a topic for individuals who are exempt from service as well as for many countries outside of Korea. D.P. provides a realistic look into the power dynamics and relationships you see in the military. New enlistees are forced to quickly adapt to a social setting that is wildly different from the civilian world and what they were used to. Military service can be physically and emotionally draining, but also present a special and unique bonding experience.
