Spotify - the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service - announced R&B singer-songwriter JUNNY as the latest artist to join its RADAR KOREA program.
 
Spotify’s RADAR program launched in 2020, is Spotify’s global program dedicated to supporting rising artists, helping them expand their reach and connect with new fans around the world. With powerful editorial curation, bespoke marketing, and the platform’s global scale, RADAR has supported over 900 artists to date. Past global alumni include The Kid LAROI, Lauv, Tyla, and Lil Baby, while Korean artists such as NMIXX, Huh, LE SSERAFIM, Zior Park, RIIZE, BABYMONSTER, and HANRORO have also been part of the program.
 
Artists featured on RADAR have seen, on average, a 40% increase in monthly listeners and a 30% boost in streams within six months of joining. This year, RADAR KOREA has expanded beyond K-Pop to include diverse genres and hyper-local artists, providing more opportunities for talent from different backgrounds to connect with global audiences.
 
Known for his emotive vocals and distinctive sound, JUNNY has steadily built his presence as a leading R&B singer-songwriter, with over 1.35 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Spotify first showcased JUNNY during “K-Night” at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Sydney, Australia, in 2023 as part of its Spotify House series. With his second full-length album “null” set for release on August 20, JUNNY will leverage RADAR KOREA to introduce his new music to listeners worldwide.

The second fan session kept the energy high with a quiz hosted by Dong Woo himself. Fans’ deep knowledge of him was so impressive that there was no single final winner. Instead, Dong Woo generously handed out several autographed posters, even personalizing them by writing fans’ names on the spot, which sent the crowd into squeals of delight.

Musically, Dong Woo surprised everyone by not only performing his unreleased track “Checkmate”, but also showing off his versatility with unexpected covers. His heartfelt renditions of Natty’s “Sugarcoat” and aespa Karina’s “Up!” brought a fresh twist that made the songs uniquely his own.

Since its premiere, Law and The City has consistently ranked as the No.1 international drama on Astro. Following the success of the star tour, the drama also climbed into the Top 10 of all TV programs on Astro and recorded a notable spike in catch-up viewing on On Demand via Astro GO, further solidifying its standing as a fan-favourite in Malaysia.
The excitement began at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where more than hundreds of fans gathered at the entrance despite the rainy weather. The area was adorned with striking Law and the City posters, setting the perfect backdrop for the stars’ arrival. As Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga-young walked the red carpet, they took time to sign the posters and even snapped selfies with a few lucky fans, drawing cheers from the crowd. Both stars reminisced about filming in Hong Kong, with Moon Ga-young recalling the excitement of exploring a new city and Lee Jong Suk praising the great weather during the shoot. When it came to food, Moon Ga-young couldn’t forget the egg tarts, while Lee Jong Suk cheekily mentioned Hai Di Lao — which he happily enjoyed again during his Malaysia trip.

Their mutual admiration was evident throughout the session. Moon Ga-young praised Lee Jong Suk’s leadership and care for the cast, while he in turn applauded her calm focus and ability to bring her character to life. Asked whether she was a workaholic, Moon Ga-young laughed, “Yes, definitely. I haven’t taken a break, which is why I have two shows this year.” Both agreed they had never imagined any career other than acting — a passion they’ve carried since young.To close the press conference, a custom cake was presented to the stars — revealing a hidden image of them beneath the first layer, sparking laughter and applause.Lee Jong Suk shared, “It’s my first time in Malaysia, and watching the finale together with fans was truly meaningful. The hospitality has been so warm — I’m grateful.” Moon Ga-young added, “This memory of watching the last episode with fans will stay with me forever.”What’s Next?Produced by leading entertainment company CJ ENM, Law and The City offers a compelling portrayal of the everyday lives of associate lawyers—salaried legal professionals who commute daily to Seocho-dong’s legal town. The drama follows Ahn Ju-hyeong (played by Lee Jong-suk), a seasoned ninth-year associate, and Kang Hui-ji (played by Mun Ka-young), a newly appointed lawyer, as they navigate complex cases and workplace dynamics. Their story unfolds through present-day challenges and reflective flashbacks, including moments set in Hong Kong, where the two first crossed paths—adding emotional depth and context to their evolving relationship. These scenes were filmed across key locations such as Victoria Harbour, Central, the “ding ding” tram, WestK Art Park, and Chung Ching Street ArtLane.

With Singapore as the closing chapter of their Asia tour, Xdinary Heroes left fans both exhilarated and emotional — a fitting send-off before the band embarks on the next leg of their Beautiful Mind journey across North America.
