Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA, 31 March 2017 – Multi-talented actor JI Chang-wook is set to grace Malaysian shores next week for the first time ever on 8 April 2017, to discuss his new action crime film, Fabricated City. This movie is proudly presented by tvN Movies, World’s First & Only Korean Blockbuster movie channel, which will be launched in Malaysia via HyppTV (CH 222) on 1 April 2017. 

Helmed by a multiple award-winning director PARK Kwang-hyun, Fabricated City talks about a hardcore gamer Kwon Yu (JI Chang-wook), who spends most of his time in an Internet café - due to chronic unemployment - after being booted out of the national Taekwondo team for assaulting a teammate. Kwon’s life takes an unexpected dip following an abrupt arrestment and life imprisonment for sexually assaulting and murdering a minor, which supposedly happened after he returned an abandoned cell phone to a mysterious female caller. With the help of his virtual teammates, they uncover a massive plot to a mysterious underworld organization and it is up to Kwon and his allies to combine forces to prove his innocence. 

“When I’m standing on the edge of the world, who will hold my hand? Can a group of powerless people come together to fight against a mighty foe? This was the message of hope that I wanted to convey in Fabricated City,” said Director PARK, who wrote the script based on current socioeconomic inequalities, as portrayed by Kwon and team who seek retaliation against rich and powerful organizations, out searching for scapegoats to stand-in for their felonies. 

Director PARK’s 2005 seminal feature film ‘Welcome to Dongmakgol’ that combines reality, fantasy, humanism and humor was a phenomenal hit which brought in more than 8 million admissions in South Korea. 

With regard to his lead actor, a familiar face in top rated Koreans dramas such as The K2 (2016) and Healer (2014), Director PARK said, “JI Chang-wook is extremely capable of understanding and pulling off believable acting and action sequences. From portraying a strong male figure to a vulnerable boy, his acting spectrum is very wide. He’s an adaptable actor”. 

Fabricated City also marks JI's feature film debut as lead actor. JI will be in Kuala Lumpur for the Gala Premiere of Fabricated City, set to be held on 8 April 2017, at GSC Cinemas, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Media and invited guests will get the opportunity to meet and interact with the actor during media conference, as well as the premiere, within the same day itself. 

Fabricated City will be released in nationwide cinemas on 20 April 2017.

1. A Tale of Tower Romance

N Seoul Tower, known for its futuristic decoration of artistic media art displays through the use of stunning display panels, making it a romantic spot for a hot date. Thanks to “My Love from the Star”, tourists, especially couples, began flocking the roof terrace with their locks to imitate the romantic gesture signifying the unbreakable bond of the heart. At the highest point of the tower, visitors can enjoy the fairy-tale like panoramic view, especially when sun is about to set.

2. A Scenic Waterway by the River

Spanning across almost 500km through the city, the Han River has been the perfect background scene for several contemporary Korean dramas such as “Lie to Me” where actors Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan are seen cruising along the river in adorable duck boats.

Just like Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho) and Shim Chung (Jun Ji-hyun) in popular drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea”, you can also enjoy the spectacular Seoul International Fireworks Festival, held every October in the Hangang Park, by the Han River. If that is not enough reasons to visit, lookout for the Banpo Bridge for the light and water shows. Installed along 570m on both sides of Banpodaegyo Bridge, some 200 lights illuminate the fountain as it sends out dancing, rainbow-colored jets of water in the air in musical harmony.

3. A Beautiful Reflection of History
Gwanghwamun, the largest gate of Gyeongbukgung Palace in Seoul has been featured in dramas of various genres from action to fantasy. One of them being, the exciting scene from “Iris” when Hyun-jun (Lee Byung-hun), Sun-hwa (Kim So-yeon), and Seung-hee (Kim Tae-hee) tried to stop the North Korean terrorist from setting off a nuclear bomb.

When at night, the gate is illuminated with lights, making it more impressive and stunning. This was also a background for one of the romantic scenes in the TV series “Queen In-hyun's Man”. Koreans see Gwanghwamun as an icon of Seoul. The King Sejong bronze statue in the Gwanghwamun square is the main attraction where it portrays the life and achievements of the great man himself during the Joseon Dynasty.

4. A Village with New Life of Art 
Park-ha (Han Ji-min) walks through Ihwa Mural Village in one of the episodes of Rooftop Prince with Yong Tae-yong (Park Yoo-chun) following her at a distance. At one point, she sits down at a beautifully painted staircase. This famous spot in Ihwa Mural Village, initially a residential village, has morphed into a popular spot for photoshoots and filming, gaining popularity among the locals and tourists. Every space and corner of the street is beautifully painted with creative artworks by local artists and university students. Expect to be immersed in the remarkable spaces with mural hunting at the small village on the slopes of Naksan Park.

The wait is over! Red Velvet, a Korean girl group of SM Entertainment, will be coming to Malaysia for the very first time on 23rd April 2017 to promote their 4th mini album, titled [ROOKIE]. 

Coming from the same company as the well-known K-Pop artists such as TVXQ!, SUPER JUNIOR, GIRLS’ GENERATION, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and the newly debuted NCT, Red Velvet is a group with five members – IRENE (the group leader), SEULGI, WENDY, JOY, and YERI. The group debuted with four members on 1st August 2014 with their digital single 'HAPPINESS' and the youngest member YERI joined the group in March of the following year with the release of their first mini album [ICE CREAMCAKE].

On February 2017, Red Velvet released their 4th mini album [ROOKIE]. The music video of the title track 'ROOKIE', the same name as the album, reached two millions views within 12 hours after release. On the first day of the album release, it charted at No. 1 on iTunes in several countries. Red Velvet has released a total of two digital singles, four mini albums and one full album to date.
