Last weekend, the iconic co-ed group KARD returned to Malaysia to make waves at the ASICS GEL-BND™ regional launch event in Sunway Pyramid, in their role as ASICS’ regional ambassador. KARD delivered an electrifying performance on the indoor stage for their fans in Malaysia as well as those who joined them from around the region.

As a celebration for the comeback of the GEL-BND™ shoes and KARD as the face of ASICS, the event saw the massive turnout of more than 300 guests, taking over the shopping complex.

The night kicked off with an opening act from local rapper Kidd Santhe, followed by a dance performance by the NastyRock Crew and finished off by the popular quartet themselves, who brought the roof down when they took the stage to perform four of their best hits – Oh Na Na, Don’t Recall, Bomb Bomb and their latest fiery tropical-dance sound Dumb Litty – bringing the event and the crowd’s energy to the peak.

 I Live Alone star, Sung Hoon made a visit to Malaysia over the weekend for a highly awaited public meet-and-greet with his fans. Held in line with Oh!K’s 5th birthday at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, more than 3,000 fans thronged the mall to get a glimpse of the star. Burgeoned with screaming fans, the meet-and-greet session featured a string of K-experiences including group photos, stage activities and hi-touch opportunities with the celebrity heartthrob.

Also known as ‘DJ Roiii’, Sung Hoon brought the house down with a special birthday segment for Oh!K. He kicked things off with a birthday song dedication to the channel and then surprised fans of I Live Alone as they finally got to witness his spinning skills live, in person. Thousands cheered on their oppa as he heated up the stage by transforming from a lovey-dovey sweetheart to his club-centric alter ego!

Being cheeky as he always is on I Live Alone, Sung Hoon effortlessly showed off this side to his Malaysian fans during the stage activities. He swept them off their feet by recording a wake-up call video for a lucky winner, took some selfies with his fans and even autographed premiums for them. He also had many up-close interactions with his fans on the ground to ensure that no one was left out.

Sung Hoon also greeted his local followers in a Facebook Live session on Oh!K’s Facebook page, a few hours ahead of the fan-meeting. He shared his excitement to be back to Malaysia after two years and that he has been studying English to better communicate with his fans across the globe. This Facebook Live session recorded close to 1000 comments from excited fans.

This exciting fan meet also resulted in #SungHooninMalaysia becoming a trending topic on Twitter over the weekend. It peaked to the #2 spot remained on the top 10 list of trending topics in the country for an impressive six hours straight. Sung Hoon’s visit to Malaysia was held in partnership with Astro, and was proudly sponsored by Nivea Micellar Water.

The Starlight Carnival is a unique open-air festival in a unique setting that will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through 2 November 2019. Featuring four key elements – movies, music, food and games – the Starlight Carnival brings together all the ingredients for a perfect time and sets it in a picture-perfect setting at the Century Lake Park.

The attractions at the Starlight Carnival are as varied as they are entertaining. At the Carnival Cinema, a red carpet of blockbuster movies – including A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia & The Greatest Showman will play out on a supersized pop-up screen for guests to lay back on beanbags and cushions to enjoy. The open-air ‘Movie Under The Stars’ will lend a new dimension to the atmosphere of the movie, where clouds could blow in during a mysterious scene or the chirping chorus of nocturnal animals elevates key scenes.

If hunger strikes, then grab a bite (or several) from one of the many gourmet food trucks and dining options scattered across the Carnival. While the food trucks serve up an unbeatable variety of snacks – from hot dogs to chocolates – Resorts World Genting will also be showcasing some of the latest additions to its F&B suite. Vibe dining restaurant FUHU by Zouk, which is part of the Zouk Genting complex, will be cooking up examples of its unique fusion cuisine, including FUHU spice tacos and FUHU duck essence porridge. Harry Ramsden brings London’s beloved fish and chips to Malaysia, while the taste of Italy – pizzas, pastas and more – arrive in hearty servings at the Il Lago kiosk. Cosmic Café will offer local favourites like nasi ayam and mee bakso, while ice cream and mango-based drinks will be available from the La Cremeria tent and the Sjora truck.

From sunset onwards, the Starlight Carnival will also be a space filled with melodies. A talented line-up of musicians, including Aidan Soloist, VIBES, McBE Duo and Double Aze, will take to the pop-up Gazebo stage to provide the soundtrack and mood for the twilight fiesta. Sip on drinks to the gentle chords of acoustic music, because music is the inspiration, and the Starlight Carnival is the stage.

And what carnival would be complete some fun and challenging carnival games? So step right up, ladies and gentlemen, to test your luck and skills at a variety of game kiosks like shooting some basketballs at Shooting Star, spinning the wheel for luck at Milky Way Spin, a test of lobster pots at Asteroid Toss, cathartic pyramid smash at Topple Galaxies and skilfully hooking ducks at Pick A Star. Hours of fun and a full merry night of challenge await at the Carnival Game Zone, as well as the chance to take home some cool prizes.

As October comes to a close, this is the season to be scary. For its final weekend, the Starlight Carnival will be given a scary season makeover for a special Halloween Weekend. Expect the same fantastic combo of film, food, fiesta and fun as before, but with a new spooky veneer as the Starlight Carnival embraces Halloween with jack o’lanterns, zombies, cobwebs and all the other elements of a truly scary Halloween evening.

While the main Starlight Carnival promises a family-friendly atmosphere, guests who want to party a little bit harder also have a place to go. Because it is October and October is the time for Oktoberfest, the annual German funfair celebrates all things beer originating in Munich. Resorts World Genting will be presenting up its own version of a Bavarian festival at the Oktoberfest Hall, held at a separate area of the Carnival with its own set of food, drink and entertainment offerings.

The main feature will, of course, be beer. Up to 19 types of premium beers – from Carlsberg Special Brew to Brooklyn OPA, from Franzikaner Hefe to Connor’s Stout Porter – will be served up in chilled glasses.

Beer is always best paired with food, so the Oktoberfest Hall will also come with its own food kiosks. Serving the best pairings to a cold mug of beer, hungry Oktoberfest celebrants can arrive at the kiosks to choose from truffle sausages, kimchi hot dogs, cheese beef burgers and spicy lamb burgers from Banger Hanger & Burgers, chicken wings topped with a variety of mouth-watering sauces at Extreme Wings and a fully-laden plate of cheesy nachos at Loaded Nachos.

The Oktoberfest Hall will also come with its own set of musical entertainment. Spanning genres from classic rock to modern dance, a variety of bands will take to the Oktoberfest Hall stage to rock the crowd and get everyone into the groove. Confirmed performers include Part III, Society of Souls, an Oompah Band and tribute bands to the Gypsy King, The Beatles and Queen. And for one evening only, Zouk Genting takes over the Oktoberfest Hall stage on 2 November 2019 in a celebration of dance music as Starlight Carnival presents the first-ever Resorts World Genting Zouk Live!

Imagine an inky black sky studded with pinpricks of stars, twinkling like diamonds against a satin background. The strains of tuneful melodies drift in the breeze as the smell of luscious food wafts through the air. On the left, exclamations of delight at the fun fair where someone has won a prize; on the right, the iconic fanfare that heralds the start of a blockbuster movie. A continuous fortnight of hazy air has effected our mood and energy levels but the nation beloved idol, Kang Daniel brightened up our day as he returned to our shores and delivered a power-packed show last Saturday. Held at Axiata Arena on 21 September, Kang Daniel Fan Meeting: 'Color On Me' in KL marked Kang Daniel first solo fan meeting here following in the footsteps of his fellow boy-band mates Ong Seong woo from WANNA ONE.

Kang Daniel opened the show with the intro track 'Dancing Through The Night' and the R&B ballad track 'Color' before having the talk segment and game session. Daniel won hearts of many when he greeted the fans in Malay phrases "Nama saya Kang Daniel. Aku cinta pada mu (I am Kang Daniel. I love you)."  When being asked about his thought about Kuala Lumpur, Daniel said he enjoyed having the steak at the hotel and expressed his wish to visit Twin Towers.

Up next was the TMI Keyword session which Kang Daniel randomly picked a lucky winner and gifted the fans his autographed CD. Fans went wild when Daniel walked up close to check on their tickets. Asides, Kang Daniel unleashed his recent announced "Colorful Daniel" travelog poster which through the travelog, he hope fans will be able to see a natural and youthful side of a 24-year old guy instead of the idol life Kang Daniel.

During one of the game segments, Kang Daniel had to complete a  'Mini Olympic Relay', which involving him to play basketball and doing squat within the time frame.Guess what? He made it within one try.

Daniel continued to bring laughter to the audiences when he trying hard to dance 'What Are You Up To' and 'I Hope' in double speed. The crowd burst into laughter when Daniel requested the producer to slow down the speed so that he could complete the double speed dance. He added "I am not Jacky Chan. Please make it slower, PD-nim."

He then went on to perform 'Horizon' and the title track 'What Are You Up To' before wowing fans with a powerful dance performance of Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' as well as a random play dance of Sunmi's 'Gashina' and BEAST's 'Fiction'.

Kang Daniel was surprised when a fan-made video was played on screen right after his performance. The video featured clips from his past, starting from the moments in Produce 101 to as a member of WANNA ONE and to now, the success solo artist. DANITYs at the venue then were seen holding the hand banner written "어두운 세상에 빛이 되어줘서 고마워요 (Thank you for lighten up the dark world)." When being asked what or who did he treasure the most, Kang Daniel answered without hesitation, "Of course is DANITY".

Towards the end of the fan meeting, Kang Daniel said, "Whenever I go on a tour, I always feel something is missing because there's too little songs to show it to you. I wanted to have more stages and show different sides of me. Next time, I hope I'll have the chance to come back here again." Kang Daniel then ended the one and a half hour show with 'I Hope' which the lyrics contains message of hoping fans to smile and be happy.

Although it was just a short fan meeting but Kang Daniel making sure each and every audiences were filled with love and left with memorable memories. Let's hope Daniel releases more songs and return to Malaysia soon for his next promotion.
